Efi Space Divider is a unique concept from Mathieu Servais as the result of an important user study where he realized today’s issues that most employees have to deal with in an open space office. Instead of creating boring cubicle dividers, he designed a ring-like object to enable office workers to isolate themselves from their surroundings when they need to focus. By lowering down Efi’s ring, it enables worker to isolate him or her self not only from physical noise (visual and phonic) but also from digital noise such as instant messages, e-mails, phone calls, etc.

Efi Space Divider is equipped with data filtering system to enable this device to present essential information when the user is in “isolation” mode. The system consists of 2 elements: an online service where user can set up his data filtering parameters and adjustable space divider. This kind of system makes an online service can work together with a tangible interface.
