The DS Luxe Autre is a visualization of a look into the future of how far Avant-Garde styling and the utilization of autonomous travel can push the boundaries for what a halo Car for the brand could look like. Taking on the likes of rolls Royce and Bentley to offer an alternative with luxury brand tie-in such as Hermes and St. Louis to offer a unique French competitor in the vein of the cruise-ship; the SS Normandie of the 20’s.
The Clientele base of the Luxe Autre is also a key USP as only selected ‘Icons’ will be invited to purchase the vehicle in order to further promote the rest of the brand to the Chinese Market. The car itself will always be kept in the DS World Showrooms to act as a mobile ‘Work of art’ with the car being visibly worked on and customized by the DS Craftsmen, adding another attraction to Paris or Shanghai where these showrooms are.

The key influences for the project came from the form and beauty of the female body with a key focus on feminine muscularity with the hip bones and cheekbones clearly seen on the vehicles bodywork. Renaissance era Paris also played a huge influence with the architecture, lifestyle and fashion of the time playing the biggest impression on the vehicles design with its distinctive ‘Corset Cables’ adorning the bodywork.
The DS Luxe Autre itself incorporates a completely floating pod section suspended completely by a maglev inspired system that offers a complete feel of levitation to the occupants. The ‘Corset-Cables’ of the exterior then influence and tighten to keep the pod completely stable around corners and over any terrain of the journey, acting as a gyroscope to keep the ride completely motionless and level at all times, keeping within the tradition of the smooth ride of the original DS Model.
In conclusion the DS Luxe Autre pushes ‘The Spirit of Avant-Garde’ Mantra of DS to the Max, with a daring and expressively Parisian design that takes on the elite to offer something completely unique.
