Dispatch Utility Vehicle for Underground Mine Environment

In the underground mining industry, few good solutions exist for personnel transport and service utility vehicles, and even fewer for ambulances. Dispatch utility vehicle fulfills the current need for a specialized solution that addresses the needs of personnel transport, emergency ambulance, and service utility vehicle for the underground mine environment; all in one vehicle, maximizing use of the vehicle and freeing up space in the mine.

Dispatch Utility Vehicle does not have a designated front end, allowing it to drive right up to an emergency site or tight work space and not have to back out or turn around; the driver switches the driver console to the other end of the vehicle. The mobile driver console can be attached at either end of the vehicle and used remotely when needed, and also operates the overhead crane – integrated into the roof structure.

The crane has a full 360° rotational range of motion, able to slide out both ends of the vehicle, or out the sides; capable of lifting injured persons in the stretcher, large and heavy parts, or a tool module for larger not easily mobile tools to repair vehicles on site. The seats of Dispatch utility vehicle are bi-directional with bi-directional back rests; flipping up for cargo space, flat as a stretcher base, or 180° in the case of the driver seats.

The large end windows open like hatches for easy stretcher loading. For better ingress and egress, the vehicle has height adjustable air suspension allowing for maximum ground clearance and low loading. With the wheels with hub mounted electric motors pushed to the corners of the vehicle and the batteries built into the chassis, interior space is maximized; damage normally incurred in the mine from wear and tear is solved, and the vehicle can park with the tires against the wall face.
