Humism was founded in 2017 as a design studio that reimagines time. For them, a watch is more than a timekeeper. Instead, the watch is an artistic canvas with a unique characteristic: movement. Inspired by the potential to use the movement of time to create visual beauty, and perhaps even philosophical meaning, they have designed and develop a series of mesmerizing automatic watches.
Drawing inspiration from the Kinetic Art movement, vibrant at the beginning of the 20th century. The kinetic artists separated themselves from traditional static art and created art that produced beauty through movement.
These innovative visual experiences created new interactive relationships between the work of art and the viewer, forcing the viewer to become an active part of the artistic process. These designs reject the role that time has taken in the modern world, a number that regulates our life. Instead, these watches turn time into mesmerizing art, revealing the beauty of the flowing present.
Time is no longer a number, time is beauty, time is art. The present should no longer be planned away, but be appreciated, as the flow of time can fascinate and inspire many of us.
