Skycycle Parasol Provides You With Better Shade and Light No Matter Where The Sun Is In The Sky

Parasol canopy protects us from the heat of the sun and the rain, but Skycycle Parasol works together with its surrounding to give you better shade and light. Assaf Israel teamed up with Hanan Layosh to create this innovative canopy, they wanted to design a canopy that lives in harmony with its surroundings while respecting nature. A light sensor is incorporated on top to detect changes in sunlight intensity, then taking advantage of solar energy, the semi-transparent surfaces can rotate slowly to shade you from different directions. When the sunlight is a bit weak, the surface of Skycycle Parasol will open to let the light in and allow you to enjoy the warmth of the sun.

Underneath the upper surface, there are several LED lights which powered by solar energy can be used after sunset. Simply spin the shade to gradually increase or decrease its brightness.

Flexible X-Cav Street Sweeper for Big Cities

X-Cav Street Sweeper concept tries to eliminate the assumption that street sweeping process is dirty and should be condemned from visible public space. This belief should be reversed since the cleaning job needs to be respected to raise public awareness about litter and cleanliness. This device features stylish and minimalist design with effective and intelligent functionality.

X-Cav is a concept street sweeper that has been designed to address the issue of cleaning streets in big cities. The main feature is the ability to adjust itself to cover all street widths, unlike conventional sweepers that require different machines to cover both narrow and wide streets. Located parallel to the cleaning unit, the undercarriage can be extended from 55-inch to 120-inch (140cm to 300cm), while the combination of horizontally and vertically rotating brushes ensure optimal cleaning coverage.

Most often than not, there will be areas that this sweeper can’t reach, therefore, X-Cav Street Sweeper is equipped with an extendable arm (at the left side) that works like a vacuum cleaner. The main cabin is rotatable, in this way, the driver can use the extendable arm to clean complicated, narrow areas. At the right side, user can find compartment storage to keep additional cleaning equipment. To ensure an easy access the door slides upwards using the aluminum frames around the cabin as a support.

The main structure of this lamp has been developed to be weather-proof, thus making it perfect for outdoor use. The main objective of Sólo was to design a concept of technology which is generally perceived as a simplistic artifact. The project aims to reduce material used and production costs. Regardless which model is used, when performing maintenance process, you would only need to remove the posterior part, making it unnecessary to remove any other parts.

E-Catch Net Scans Flying Insects Without Hurting Them

Catching insects are usually done using butterfly net, but using E-Catch Net, children can study those insects without hurting them. It’s a concept 3D scanning wand which scans any object pass through it where children can print 3D paper model of it. This device has been designed to expand and exercise children’s practical knowledge and abilities of insects without harming the creatures. How to use it? simply hold the scanning wand over the butterfly, firefly, or other flying insects, this device collects all information in 3D data. Children can connect this wand to the computer and printout the data to create 3D paper insect model.

Airblow 2050 is your futuristic umbrella concept. This project has been designed as part of James Dyson Award based on the idea how unpractical our conventional umbrella is. As you already know, umbrella causes your floor wet, users collision, and turns inside out when strong wind blows. Keeping this in mind, the designer played with the idea what if there’s no fabric? What can we use to protect us from the rain?

Airblow 2050 has been designed based on Dyson’s technology, it utilizes Dyson digital motor to inhales air and blows it out and create invisible protection dome to bounce any water drops. User can open this concept umbrella and turn on the motor to create air dome, pretty cool, isn’t it? One thing for sure, you will not able to use this umbrella to protect you from the sun.

Camp Stove : Efficient Wood Burning Stove To Be Used at Campsite

Nicely designed Camp Stove is intended to be used for camping. It’s a highly efficient wood-burning stove that uses small sticks and twigs or any other combustibles you can find around the campsite. The principle of the design was based on the rocket-stove principle, collapsible with double-walled construction, thus allowing you to carry this lightweight stove anywhere and cook with minimal use of resources.

Camp Stove design consists of 2 parts: combustion chamber and cooking pot. Each part has been designed to provide you with maximum result yet requires only minimal resources. The combustion chamber features specific geometry, a small opening but narrow internal diameter which allows only a limited amount of fuel, in this way, it burns more efficiently and cleanly. The insulating double wall helps in reducing heat loss while keeping the outer surface cooler.

For cooking pot, it’s been designed with double-layered wall that acts as a chimney. It has narrow channel which forces hot air and gas to flow from the bottom to all sides of the cooking vessel, thus making the pot hot in short of time.

After disaster struck, V Plus emergency relief tent provides temporary shelters for survivors. It generates its own power using solar cells, the modular design allows a single tent to be interconnected to create larger shelter. The canvas sheet of V Plus takes a triangular shape, the exterior surface has been designed to use advanced flexible solar cells to generate enough power to meet the tent’s energy requirements.

Due to the ability to generate its own energy, each tent can become an independent energy unit which can effectively solve energy issue in disaster areas. There’s lighting component attached at the top of the support pole. Any other unused solar energy is saved in battery cells within the pole. V Plus emergency relief tent is compact and lightweight, very efficient to transport.

Flood Float Torch Informs You About Underfoot Hazards

Flood is one of natural disasters that cause death, thousands homeless people, or food crisis. Flood Float Torch is concept hazard indicator especially designed for flooded areas, it indicates there’s dangerous conditions underfoot. There have been many natural disasters all over the world and many of them are flood-related especially in Asia. When roads are submerged in water, people or vehicle can easily step into a drain or trip on some other obstacles. This concept is a combination of a traffic cone, a water-activated battery, and a signal light. It can be installed on pavement in rows to give vehicles or pedestrians information about the presence of a hazard underfoot.

As water enters the space inside the cone, Flood Float Torch pushes the battery, scale rod, and LED light. In this way, the light appears above the water surface.

It’s an ingenious idea to help elderly people or anyone who has walking difficulties to climb the stairs easily and conveniently, also for those who need to carry heavy items, they can use a cart or trolley without a problem. This staircase concept aims to minimize accidental falls and injuries.

Convertible user-friendly staircase incorporates a simple linkage mechanism which only requires minimal effort to operate. You can mount it directly to your existing stairs, it doesn’t need special construction of a new ramp. It’s been designed for easy installation with minimal maintenance and also low construction cost.
