Aerio is a nice little sensor that detects air pollution level. According to WHO, the dangers of air pollution are far greater than previously thought, it is one of greatest hazards to human health. Do you know that there are more than 3.5 million deaths every year caused by air pollution? This problem inspired Nikolas Ethore, an industrial designer, to create a gadget that informs user about the air pollution level of his environment. Aerio features minimalist design with a power button and series of LED lights for visually displayed the level of pollution, it is connected with custom app for your smartphone so that you can share the data with all other Aerio users.

GIGS.2.GO USB Sticks : Tear It Off to Share

A pack of GIGS.2.GO USB flash drives which you can tear off to share them. The compact size (a credit card sized pack) makes it easy to carry and share, not to mention it uses low-cost molded paper pulp as its main material, a nice tiny reusable thumb drives. This concept is the answer of the challenge that small gadgets don’t have to use oil-based plastic enclosures, it can utilize 100-percent post-consumer recycled paper as well.

Kurt Rampton, the designer, says that this concept is renewable, biodegradable, cheap, lightweight, yet durable enough to ensure each tab lasts many uses. He explained that this project was inspired by BOLTGroup designers who frequently running into problems when sharing presentation or files with clients, because not all clients are tech savvy while cloud sharing might not be the best option.

This small pack of flash drives can be shared easily and you can even give it to the client. It’s flexible and requires low cost in production, thanks to the idea of using molded paper pulp. The result is a great opportunity for anyone to use up-cycle material as a gadget product enclosure, the ability to tear the material lends itself to the tear-off-tab concept. At the end of its useful life, you can easily disassemble GIGS.2.GO USB flash drive to separate the organic and technical parts.

Zero iPhone Radio concept features elegant and sophisticated design. For this project, the designer wanted to come up with minimalist and sleek concept radio with easy access and subtle lines. That’s why there are no buttons in this device, simply a touch screen panel to control the radio. The display zone allows you to see the animated equalizer which makes it a crucial part in the design. This device is able to deliver 360-degree circle sound, the inclined structure offers better acoustic and making it easier for you to detach your iPhone. The metal minimalist base adds elegant touch to the overall look. The designer applies the basic principle of Mies Van der Rohe into his design, less is more.

Drop The Beat is a concept wearable electronic drum set to further enhance the artist’s presence during live performance. We see this as the simpler version of Pacer Suit, a concept suit that makes unique sound when you move. The designer was inspired by Laurie Anderson’s 1986 concert film “Home of the Brave”, then he designed a special wardrobe where each drum pad with embedded sensor is attached to it using Velcro.
