Drone technology is a bit expensive, not to mention it can crash when used. ahaDRONE Kit is a concept project born from the idea that a drone should be affordable for everyone. It’s a simple vision that allows everyone to have access to this technology. ahaDRONE Kit offers you a cardboard drone, composed of 5 ply engineering corrugated board, hardware, and open-source flight controller software. It comes in a flatpack do-it-yourself kit.
Everything you need to build and fly the drone is in the kit. Designed by Srinivasulu Reddy, Gururaj M S, and Himanshu Gupta, ahaDRONE Kit is an open source airframe design, due to its material, it has low environmental footprint. You can adapt this drone for different applications simply by altering the airframe or software, as simple as cutting and gluing paperboards, or editing few lines of code in Arduino studio, an open source programming tool.
ahaDRONE Kit has everything you need to build a fully working drone, it has flight controller, motors, propellers, battery, and some accessories. There are eight airframe boards with component cutouts are stacked to form a flat pack. The drone can be piloted through any smartphone with WiFi capability, no app needed.
