The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 with its 3.2” touchscreen has been officially unveiled after its sleek-looking predecessor X1. If you consider dimensions, the latest X2 is close to its previous version; however, it’s lighter than the X1. The X2 features a redesigned keypad just like that of a netbook and reveals by sliding out the upper portion. The 8.1 megapixel camera is one of the major upgrades of X2. The custom panel interfaces have been enriched with fourteen preloaded and sixteen more downloadable ones. Besides, it is the debut of Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system as default on a Sony Ericsson handset.

The cell phone market has reached a stage wherein all the manufacturers are vying for their own pace. Today phones are not just phones but something beyond. Like the new phone that is a resultant of KDDI; this concept phone normally can be used as a phone, however the same unfolds to become a music jukebox. It’s is as simple as that and when folded looks all set to be a jazzy phone. So the next time if one feels that they are out of options to organize a small private party, just flip out your phone and be the party starter !

George Watson has designed his new gizmo which he has named as ‘Object’. He says that it’s a photographic experience, as the main inspiration for designing the product was to relate the digital data with the physical object and create meaningful links between them. He has won the vetch telecommunication award for this innovative product wherein once the images are taken using the camera, the exchange converts them into the domestic item by tagging the artifact through a small rfid chip in the device. The device is surely helpful and comes handy when instructing or introducing products to the ones who can’t identify the same.

The new clock designed by UK based designer Duncon Shutton’s digimech clock sure seems interesting innovation. This life size clock, as the name suggests, combines the mechanical and digital aspects in a clock, as in the display digits of the clock. This is an original idea as the minute and the hour digits change just as in the game of tetra. The good thing is that even though the change is constant with each passing second, the final digit only changes after the respective minute has passed. It is fun to watch the way the minutes or hours change and takes a bit of an effort to understand the change of time, but sure signifies the talent the designer has.

Car manufacturers have always been interested to explore how the vehicles of the future would be like, but the key remains as to how prepared are we to face the challenge of presenting newer options. We know that BMW always introduces jaw-dropping car concept such as the last post in this blog BMW M1 Homage, but even in our wildest dream we don’t expect to see BMW latest car concept would be made of cloth. BMW Group Design has come up with GINA or Geometry and Functions in “N” Adaptations. BMW Gina Light car concept promotes innovative thinking and allows maximum freedom of creativity. Also BMW has explored the creative options that can be provided rather than probing how the future cars will look like. This car can change shape and surface at the flick of a switch, and the ‘GINA’ principles it espouses have been used to craft today’s BMW design language.

BMW design has been known to ruffle a few conservative feathers in the past, and today’s disclosure of its GINA process is bound to raise eyebrows. Standing on its 20-inch alloys, the Light Vision Model concept looks like a modern-day BMW sports car, displaying taut sculpted muscles and the brand’s unmistakable signature form language of flame surfacing.

Yet the Light Visionary Model is not made of metal but of cloth. The virtually seamless stretch fabric is secured on a meshwork of metal wires that shields the movable substructure beneath.

Suzuki has announced its hydrogen motorcycle concept at Tokyo Motor Show last November, and the good news is they are ready to put this unconventional motorcycle into production. The crosscage concept motorcycle is a fuel-cell motorcycle in which a simple, compact, lightweight air-cooled fuel-cell system and a high-performance secondary battery are brought together in a way that realizes optimal power control. A fuel-cell unit from British specialist company Intelligent Energy delivers quick activation with low fuel consumption, and a lithium-ion battery combines safety with a low environmental burden. The simplicity, compactness, and lightness of these technologies not only make the crosscage environment-friendly; they also helped enable sporty styling befitting the Suzuki name.

This motorcycle was developed in conjunction with British Intelligent Energy, which make this a great collaboration since British Intelligent has its own hydrogen generation plants. Energy has a portfolio that includes a range of world-class fuel cell, fuel processing, desulphurization and hydrogen generation technologies. The companys existing home hydrogen generation system means youll be able to make your own hydrogen at home. So I guess this news means you will find this motorcycle in the nearest showroom somewhere near the future.
