An exceptional mechanism created by Mathias Buttet – founder of Confrérie Horlogère – for the Only Watch 09 auction: an event that takes place every two years and is aimed at raising funds to help children affected by Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

Touched by the devastating effects of this disease, Mathias Buttet has developed a Vertical tourbillon watch which features a hand-wound mechanical movement able to make the time last longer for those who don’t have much of it. Moreover, the prototype developed has been enriched with a further function allowing users to shorten the time if they so wish.

HM3’s twin cones indicate hours and minutes respectively, with the hour cone capped by a day/night indicator. An over-sized date wheel – the wheel is actually a larger diameter than the movement – allows for large, clearly legible numbers, with the date indicated by a neatly engraved triangle.

The movement of HM3 has been literally turned upside down to allow for an uninterrupted view of the solid gold winding rotor and the animated oscillations of the balance wheel. The technical challenges in inverting the movement were considerable; however, Jean-Marc Wiederrecht, winner of the inaugural award for Best Watchmaker at the 2007 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève, and his team at Agenhor not only met but surpassed the challenge.

Turning the watch over reveals the technical secret behind the inverted movement: two large, high-tech ceramic bearings that efficiently transmit power up to the cones and the date wheel.

Sergio says “Outside the car industry technologies have been developed in order to regenerate power, like kinetic watches, wind turbine, geothermic energy absorption even a sustainable dance floor is developed that regenerates the energy from the bouncing of the floor.

Around those ideas I designed a car with a central kinetic axis that generates the power of the movement as the vehicle turns like two attached motorbikes.

Second, I thought electrical cars should be designed aiming for sensations and not for speed in order to preserve the batteries longer. At high speed the battery range drop considerably, so this vehicle would provide sensations at lower speeds.

Drivers that have lived in a virtual computer game word that want to drive a vehicle closer to a spaceship, something that can provide them with different sensations.”

Luxury doesn’t have to mean expense or extravagance. Moreover, in the fragility of 21st century consumerism, exclusivity could go much further, where its perceptual value increases over time and through an experience of the product. Just as classic watches and historic cars develop a story and history over time, the owner of a vehicle should feel this experience. A patination of material such as bronze, that is hand-crafted or develops over time and is unique to each ownership situation would bring a valid ‘local quality’ that could be argued as being lost in today’s globalized world.

Technology was also an important part of the project, in that being at the forefront of technology would allow an entirely new, exclusive proportion of vehicle. By using bio-electric hybrid technology in situated low down in the chassis, I was able to celebrate the lack of an internal combustion engine and create an entirely new proportion of vehicle. The use of cameras and projections on the interior allows for the deletion of the traditional windscreen and allows the long, low, sculptural bonnet to run up over into the roof, uninterrupted. Again, something only exclusively possible with this car. I also wanted to emphasize the interior element, to show that it is cradled in the structure, a precious entity much like a Faberge egg. By suspending the interior in magnetic levitation it further separates it from the technical elements of the car whilst providing a truly serene ride quality.

As it is intended to be used only on special occasions and cosseted, it will be kept in a specifically designed building from which you can control the atmosphere the car is kept in and thus control the patination, much like a cigar humidor. The building will be covered in photo-voltaic solar panels and will be able to store up solar energy to be used to power the car. If energy levels drop, then it will run off the national grid, but otherwise it will be solely self-sufficient.

All of these factors should add up to truly unique, exclusive ownership experience, while a creating a mystique about the car, the like of which may not have been seen since the art deco period.

Often ring tones are irritating for the others and if you want use vibrating-call that is not always useful if the phone is far from you. Wearing the phone, vibrating-call is more practical because it vibrates on the hand. I think the gesture of shaking the thumb and pinky to call is natural for the people. You can have the phone always ready to use, and putting microphone and speaker very close at your ear and mouth is possible use it also in noisy places. You can continue to catch objects or use a pen. Another more serious reason to use it, is for people that have fear of electro smog from mobile phones. Separating the microphone and the speaker is possible to adapt them according the personal shape of human cranium and to keep the electromagnetic field far from the head. Touchscreen equipped with “Voice Activated” and “Hands Free” software to dialing, picking up and hanging up the line.

Well this wireless headset looks cool and uses the Bluetooth technology to connect to the mobile phone and RF to connect to the actual ear buds. So technologically this sounds a cool concept.

Targeting various market segments Plantronics Versa comes in different shapes and sizes for men and women and teenagers! Well for men it is long, slim and metallic targeting the gizmo flashing man. While for women, it is in the form of a chrome necklace thus encouraging it to be more of ornamental value. While for the teenagers it’s a colored combo of necklace and clip made of anodized aluminum (whatever that is). As per plantronics, the device can be launched within next two years. So shouldn’t be long when you catch hold of this one gadget in your hands.

The most interesting thing in this is that it has display lines all over which shows the current time. There are three lines one shows the hours, second shows the minutes and the third one shows the seconds. It has been made with high technology keeping in mind the simplicity of the bracelet, it has the shine and gloss with an attitude and is also available in different colors.
