Loop Vignette : Eco-Friendly and Lightweight 2-Seater Electric Car for Next Generation

Loop Vignette is an eco-friendly and lightweight 2-seater concept electric car designed for the next generation riders aiming to customize the mobility ideas with more closely associated lifestyle products, technological gadgetry and the Internet. The outcome is therefore a brand new, sophisticated, fun, desirable and most significantly affordable experience which the target customer can relate to.

The design comprises both economic and technical efficiency. The chassis is covered in an unpainted swappable plastic skin, which eliminates the painting stage. The placement of the rear wheels within the rear quarter panel offer improved aerodynamics. The rear and front façade of the car contains thin-film OLEDs under the colored polycarbonate surfaces, through which users can personalize parameters like day-running lights or graphically expressing themselves by adding custom decals. This feature will also eliminate the need of placing individual lights for turn indicators or brakes.

The dashboard has been kept minimal for individual movable components; rather it contains a huge touch screen where most of the interactions between the car and the rider will take place. While driving, users can keep their other works going on through the internet connectivity and share their driving experience through social networking websites.

Future Melbourne Taxi Design for 2020

Melbourne Taxi 2020 is a vehicular and systematic TAXI design concept which is proposed for Melbourne city for the year of 2020. The concept utilizes an electric TAXI vehicle and supported infrastructure with recharging booths placed at vital points around the city. The design of the vehicle is mainly focused on safety of the driver and passengers, reliability, ease of use, iconic design and minimal environmental footprint. The highlighted features of the vehicle are GPS and mapping system for passengers and driver, Smart card system, passenger info and entertainment hub, hydrogen fuel cell, solar panel system including recharging hubs and battery generators.

This proposal is focused around providing an alternative view of what the future of the Taxi might be. The vehicle is designed around the user and this is reflected in the safety of ingress/egress, the passenger/driver compartment split and features for ease of use by passengers. Features include, split for driver safety when used as night rider, GPS and mapping system for driver and passenger, passenger entertainment/info hub, Smart card system, disability access and focus on curb side access only. Technological features include the hydrogen fuel cell, battery generators, solar panel system and recharging hubs.

The overall aesthetic of the vehicle is influenced by the Australian environment; space, relaxed ambience, unique identity, comfort, security, and a ‘can do’ attitude. These unique characteristics immediately identify the vehicle as special purpose and also set it apart from other vehicles on the road. The curb-side DLO captures the essence of the Taxi in that it is inviting passengers inside for an experience.

The footprint is emphasized by the wheels being in the outermost corners of the vehicle which allows for greater volume and also a very level and balanced stance. The roof features an acrylic opening area to allow for a greater sense of space while also allowing a great vantage point for passengers. The solar panel is also cleverly housed on the roof to harness the most energy from beating Australian sun.

Curb side access only for passenger ingress / egress safety. All doors use a slider system for minimizing the overall footprint of the vehicle whilst it is in operation. Access for wheel-chair bound passengers is catered for by providing a platform that extends to the curbside to allow access. All rear compartment seats tuck away to open-up maximum floor room for wheelchair access. Rear trunk also operates on a slider system.

The rear compartment is split-up to allow for better communication for the rear occupants. Rear seats fold away to allow access and floor clearance for wheelchair access. Heads-up display on split window for accessing features such as map, places of interest, fares and also for advertising. Driver to passenger split is driven by – safety and privacy. The split ensures security of the drivers whilst also providing a more private booth-type environment for passengers. Doors split open at the centre to allow for maximum operating opening distance.

Polycarbonate is used throughout the vehicle due to its impact resistance, relative lightweight, optical qualities and high temp resistance. The chassis comprises of aluminum to minimize weight.

Curb-side access only for passenger safety, bright orange livery for visual impact, safety-cell for passengers and driver all contribute to overall safety. Optimized seating configuration allows greater interaction, comfort and ease of use – especially the fold away seats for wheelchair access.

Hydrogen fuel cell technology coupled with electric generators / batteries propel the vehicle. The solar panel is used to harness extra energy as well as the recharging hubs when the vehicle is used to pick up passengers.

CCC : Transform Your Car Into A Helicopter

The CCC is a fascinating and futuristic concept car which is an ultimate solution for eventful city use with its compact design and mostly, the ability to transforming into a fully operational helicopter. When in the car mode, it is a three wheeled vehicle with 2 giant front wheels and one small rear wheel, which works as tail rotor when it transforms into copter mode. The blades remain folded hidden in car mode and can eventually pop out when required. The entrance is designed from the front through a pop up glass door and no passengers other than the driver are allowed to board on this single seater car-copter. The cockpit has a sphere at the driver’s right arm to control the CCC.

Viu : 3 Wheel Electric Concept Car for 2 Persons

Viu is a futuristic concept car that has been designed with a living feel and has given the sensation about not only its aesthetic like a motorbike, but comprehensive safety of a 4 wheeled car. This lighter and smaller vehicle comprises more aerodynamics to make it more efficient and environmentally friendly with its 2 electric engines that never emit anything bad at all. The sporty and technologic outlook enables wheels, suspension or rear suspension to be seen in action from the driving position inside. Moreover, cameras with the floating rear view mirrors, air side intakes, aggressive LED front lights and carbon fiber elements have given the car an innovative and dynamic image.

The interior of VIU was designed aiming the needs of the future users by serving as a living means of transportation. The design of the dashboard stimulates the eye with two lateral LED lights that indicates an efficient driving meter and a tachometer. The 1+1 sitting arrangement of the car offers the exciting movement of a motorcycle together with the safety of a closed car. As the road turns, the car cabin inclinates with the turn and the back seat rotates following the turn to offer maximum driving excitement to the driver.

Up the drivers seat, there is a fan to blow on the drivers back and shoulders to motivate him and to provide an excitingly fresh environment during the hot season when moisture accumulate on the seat, another air fan is there to dissipate the moisture. The steering wheel is actually a drumming pad, which can jam in the speakers when the user drums on the wheel spontaneously. This extremely cost-effective vehicle will cost five cents only with Eneloop batteries for one month, eight hours a day use.

Futuristic Epine Concept Car was Inspired by Racing Vehicles

Epine concept car derived from a project to create a hybrid eco-friendly vehicle that is able to provide a racing track experience to its occupants while at the same time offering a new way of being in touch with the nature. The minimalist design of this car gets inspiration from racing vehicles – Formula One cars and motorcycles – and comprises a whale skeleton as a token of natural element. The major technical feature of this car is the Epine system that allows a complete seating arrangement by adopting the drive-by-wire technology to run the steering system.

The storage compartment is located in the front and the powerplant is at the rear side of the car. Michelin Tweel concept which actually is airless wheels has been used in the suspension system of this car and is housed within the wheel itself. The structure and the materials of the wheel spokes allows to compress and decompress, offering a collection of motions. The total length of the compact car is 4,260mm, width 1,882mm and height 1153mm.

Exocar is a concept transportation unit that enhances the user’s capability to travel through his or her environment in a more flexible and natural way as opposed to traditional means of transport. Whether you want to run, walk, roll or drive, this transportation unit will let you to move the mode you want to move. The vehicle has four wheels and, can fit and adapt the body of the rider easily in an effective way. When the user decides to drive it vertically, it will stand on its rear wheels and can run keeping you standing. The vehicle features a removable windshield for the driver to protect from wind and rain.

Cherry Electric Transportation Design with Carbon-Fiber Plastic Body

Cherry is an innovative way of transportation concept which is neither a bike nor a bicycle but still can offer the similar functionality with more facilities. Inspired by the natural shape of Cherry, the front part of this concept is bigger since this is the motion producing part and the rear part is at the minimum dimensions which results comfortable ride and lighter and smarter outlook. This vehicle will offer you less energy requirement, strong performance, balance of three wheels, pleasure of motorcycle, adjustable driving position and customizable parts. It will provide you reduced maintenance cost because of the few and simple parts and zero emission and no pollution due to the plug-in batteries and electric motor.

Cherry will offer easy control using the throttle and the break lever and requires very small place to park. By using lightweight elements such as small battery and carbon-fiber plastic body, this vehicle weights around 40kg or less only and can be carried anywhere easily. The high torque of the electric motor, lightweight design and strong grip via three wheel drive has made it a big performance vehicle. The designer envisioned this vehicle as a transportation solution for every person in future world when space-efficiency would be one of the biggest concerns among mankind.

Foldable Skateboard, Is It A Good Idea ?

The need of space-use efficiency has directed the designers to many innovative concept products ranging from bicycles to full fledged cars. But folding skate board is quite an exceptional idea for user convenience, portability and space minimizing. The board is actually a combination of two parts connected with a clump at the middle. The combination of black upper surface with a led direction indicator and the white under surface has given the skate board a fabulous look. The movable rear wheel base will allow you to place the wheels in an organized way when you will fold the board. Foldable skateboard might look cool, but the real skateboarders don’t seem to agree with this idea.

Antares Lift is an innovative foldable and space saving bicycle concept that was intended for the cycling lovers and green commuter. This concept bicycle is a step away from the traditional mechanical aesthetic and carries in some organic elements that are found in nature. The design gets the inspiration from the orchid leaf and the outline of a tear drop and some remarkable features includes single-speed drive, rear and front brakes and an integrated set of energy efficient LED tail and headlamps. You can fold the bike by simply lifting up the center frame, let the rear and front wheels roll in near each other and click.
