Rural concept is a clean, practical and efficient transportation concept specially designed to be used in rural areas by focusing on minimalism and functionality at the forefront. The wheel hubs of the concept wrap the electric motors which provides quieter driving, keeping the calmness of rural nature intact. The passenger’s pod is located on the singular carbon fiber chassis on the top of the vehicle. The most amazing thing about the vehicle is that it doesn’t require any mechanical joints since it uses wire to drive and steer which can be adapted or modified during purchasing the car according to the user’s need.

Twizy Z.E. Concept Brings A Fresh New Approach To Urban Mobility

Twizy Z.E. is an innovative all electric concept means of transportation that is designed for future urban mobility with four-wheel chassis, offering the passenger and driver seated one behind the other. This can concept is helping the environment by producing no CO2 emissions and assisting the users to juggle the daily city traffic with speed, efficiency and simplicity. The ultra-compact car is only 2.3m long and 1.13m wide, ensuring great convenience for busy urban use.

For its occupants, the open bodywork of the car represents highly practical solution for urban mobility through a turning required circle of only three meters and a footprint hardly larger than that of a scooter. The wheel provides easy and agile handling that ensures rarely getting stuck in the traffic, while the low center of gravity of this four-wheeler provide excellent stability.

A completely unique feature of this car is its octagonal wheel fairings that entirely cover the tires. This innovative design creates a pleasing and harmonious feeling along with its pearl-white and blue hub caps, where no one can see the wheel rotating any longer. Instead, the movements of the hub caps are only being seen, giving a silent and graceful gliding appearance along the road.

The Twizy Z.E. concept car is powered by a 20hp (15kW) electric motor that can develop 70Nm of torque, combining comfort with reactive performance at any engine speeds. It can accelerate like a 125cc bike and pulls away quickly from standstill. The car features a 75kph of top speed which may not seem a big number, but since it is designed to be used in busy traffic, it still is a fast car while cutting the traffic easily.

Mercedes Benz Eco-Friendly BlueZero Concept Car

BlueZero is the latest addition of the eco-friendly series cars by world renowned Mercedes-Benz. The main inspiration came from the idea of creating a vehicle that is affordable and eco-conscious, and can offer a multitude of platforms for daily use. Keeping the sandwich floor concept of Mercedes in mind, the structure of this concept car allows three different platforms to realize: first one is an E-Cell with battery, secondly E-Cell plus with gasoline and battery and the last one is an F-Cell with hydrogen. This concept allows the powertrain to be moved into the floor cells in the event of a front-end collision. This innovative is not only a great safety solution but also will help creating a universal platform.

From the design viewpoint, only the obligatory 3-pointed star placed in the center of the front grille has been seen common with other conventional Benz models. A sweeping curve is making the appearance of the car unique that begins right behind the front quarter and finishes up the beltline located near the back side of the car. This BlueZero concept is relying only on its existing architecture, practical thoughts and strong support from the confident customers.

EyeStops : Futuristic Bus Stops from SENSEable City Lab of MIT

EyeStops is a concept device for bus stops which will allow the passengers to do a lot more activities than just sitting idle and wait. The SENSEable City Lab of MIT has designed this solar-powered booth that are outfitted with touchscreen displays that will show necessary information like bus schedules or the shortest route for a certain destination. Even more, you will be able to browse the web, check the air quality, see the exact location of your desired bus, interact with a mobile device and use the booth as a community message board to post announcements and ads. On top of that, this booth will surely change the appearance of a traditional bus stop.

MIT unveils EyeStop: an iPhone‐like interactive bus stop for the City of Florence

May 14, 2009. MIT architects and engineers have unveiled EyeStop, an interactive bus stop designed for the city of Florence. On Saturday 16 May the project will be presented officially at the Genio Fiorentino by the President of the Province of Florence Matteo Renzi (dubbed ‘The Italian Obama’ by TIME Magazine).

EyeStop, developed by MIT’s SENSEable City Lab, is an exploration into the next generation of smart urban furniture; it aims to enrich the city with state of the art sensing technologies, interactive services, community information and entertainment. The project is partially covered with touch sensitive e‐INK and screens, so that it can deliver information to people seamlessly. Users can plan a bus trip on an interactive map, exchange community‐relevant information on a digital message board, surf the web, monitor their real time exposure to pollutants and use their mobile devices as an interface with the bus shelter. “Interacting with EyeStop could change the access to urban information in a similar way to how the iPhone has changed our mobile life” commented Carlo Ratti, Head of the SENSEable City Lab at MIT.

At the touch of a finger users can indicate their desired destination; the system will then display the shortest bus route from where they are and the position of all relevant buses real‐time. The EyeStop will glow at different levels of intensity to signal the distance of an approaching bus. Riders and passers‐by can also post ads and community announcements to an electronic bulletin board placed on the bus stop, enhancing its functionality as a public space ‐ a place to gather and exchange community relevant information.

In addition to displaying information, the bus stop also acts as an active environmental sensing node, powering itself through sunlight and collecting real time information about air quality and the urban environment. “EyeStop is an experiment into urban computing: it may be considered an “info‐tape” that snakes through the city, rising up like a pole or cropping out of the sidewalk like a shelter. It senses information about the environment and distributes it in a form accessible to all citizens” – commented project leader Giovanni de Niederhousern.

A generative parametric model produces a unique design for each bus stop, providing both optimal sheltering for users and maximum sunlight exposure for direct photovoltaic powering. Unlike the typical mass‐produced bus stop, EyeStop is designed to fit the physical characteristics of its surroundings, with each unit being slightly different from the others. Furthermore, simple materials like shiny steel, extra clear glass and gray local stone (pietra serena), together with its minimalist design, serve to optimize how it blends into the historic urban fabric of Florence.

“Since the Renaissance, there has been an interplay between the physical form of the city (urb) and its citizenship (civitas),” added Carlo Ratti. “Today’s technologies are adding new possibilities to that age‐long relationship, thanks to the addition of digital information to physical space. It is as if a new materiality were emerging in architecture, with the seamless blending of bits and atoms…”

EyeStop was developed at the SENSEable City Laboratory by Giovanni de Niederhousern, Shaocong Zhou, Assaf Biderman and Carlo Ratti, in collaboration with the Province of Florence and the local public transportation authority ATAF.

The official logo of Chanel is presumed to be used at the rear end of the sidewall. “Natural Wave” Will Utilize The Heat from A Radiator to Warm Your Foods

A radiator generally gives off a remarkable amount of heat and Yoo Byungseok designed the Natural wave considering the new possibilities and many other practical uses of this energy. The Natural Wave concept describes the potential of interrelations among an item and its environment. Ordinary everyday objects that is being neglected in general has been given new meaning by developing new uses that come up from the environment directly. The main goal of this concept is to spot possibilities of the environment that can offer the prospective of new products. The heat from a radiator has been utilized in Natural Wave for a tray to warm foods that resides on the top of a radiator.

It is the constant endeavor of mobile makers to provide the best of the services to their users, which is why the innovation by all designers is aimed at getting the max out of their handsets. The new Mozphone concept: OLED Blackberry which is nothing but a combination of Balckberry 7139 and an optimus keyboard. It is quite significant whereby the combination opens up a lot of communication channels. The phones usually have limited ability for receiving and providing information through the 3″ display screen which does seem to be an inconvenience, addressing this problem, this concept utilizes every inch of the phone thus providing complete utilization. This trashcan designed by Constance Guisset and Cid Gregory’s seems to take the age old adage that to save space go upward! This trashcan has three separate containers for disposing different types of trash. It is a perfect companion for those who like to keep the recyclable trash separate. The trashcan is accessed by the three foot pedals each with opening in a different manner for easy accessibility like the middle unit opens horizontally sliding out or the top container’s lid or the last unit tilts the bottom container forward. There is a provision for dispenser bag as well thus it’s a product with practical solutions.

Cool Drive Single Seater Vehicle

Cool Drive transportation design by Chinese designer Robin Wang is what he developed for mode of transportation for the future. The vehicle is quite practical as it is single-seater. It is made from complex fiber material, which provides complete safety to the driver by using brand new shock proof techniques wherein the impact on the body is directly transported to the wheels. The vehicle is shaped in the form of egg, which is another safety factor and has a front entry with a comfortable seating for the driver. By looks of it, surely it seems to be a cool drive as it can easily zip across the street in no time and also will not occupy much parking space.
