The cell phone market over the years has turned out to be a segment with the least shelf life, thereby a constant process for manufacturers to come up with new models. Today cell phone is not just an instrument to make and receive calls but far beyond that. The new walkman phone Premiere 3 by KDDI for Sony Ericsson, slated for spring release is a powerhouse so to say. It features a 3″ VGA screen, auto focus camera, and a memory of 2GB and weighing a meager 113gms, and quite compact in size. The colors are quite vibrant and with video in demand feature and also remote control for walkman, it sure is a model to look out for. There’s no info on pricing yet.

After being persistently recommended by my friend I finally bought the new Roomba 560 about three months back, and must admit that it was a wise decision. One thing all we pet owners face is the shedding that they do, but can’t blame them because this comes natural to them. Even our cat keeps shedding a lot, and honestly used to have a hard time maneuvering the same. But this new device seems like an answer to all my prayers. Not only does it clean the regular vacuum stuff, but cat hair too.

The best part is that the physical presence of the user is not even necessary. Just set the time when you want the house to be clean and this device does the rest. So if you are out for work or sleeping after a long hard working day, once done see for yourself how a spic and span house is waiting for you. With a compact size it is easy to store and keep and is quite noiseless even while operating which is completely opposite of what all vacuum cleaners are synonymous with.

There are many innovative features that have been incorporated in this new Roomba, like the sensors present in it helps it to identify that if it approaches a solid object the speed automatically drops, thus it’s quite gentle on furniture and other important parts of the house. Apart from this it also timely warns if the dirt bag is full or the brushes need cleaning. Another technology that is featured is that of lighthouse, wherein the Roomba automatically cleans the rooms without moving to the next one. With loads of innovation and user friendly options I may sound as a brand ambassador for the Roomba, but would admit that you too would turn into one if you use it too.

Mintpad is a new digital marvel which just adds to the fun of passing notes to the next level. It’s a tiny little device and one can just scribble on the screen without the use of key boards and passes the information via Wi-Fi. It makes you feel more connected with both the sender and the receiver getting the information in the hand written form. Priced at $156, Mintpad is available right now only in Korea, it comes loaded with a 4 GB memory with other facilities like media player, web browser and camera, in real terms it’s a tiny powerhouse.

In our daily busy schedule, vacuum cleaners over the years have become a very helpful tool. Though the first thing that comes to mind is that big cleaning devices, but as the saying goes, good thing comes in small packages like here comes the round shaped Taibu vacuum cleaner. It is a small good looking powerhouse which is easy to use and store. Designed by upcoming designer Anna-Maria Einla, it doesn’t compromise on the functionality or utility. The design is special enough in a manner that the bulk of the weight is carried at the bottom so it doesn’t fall during usage. One word comes to mind – cute!

Bubble Dishwasher Concept

Maintaining the dishwasher and getting the dirty utensils cleaned can be so exhausting. Well here comes bubble! A new concept dishwasher which can be said to be a powerhouse performer packed in the small size. It cylindrical in shape with pores all over and it operates when submerged in water where it needs to be kept in the sink. During operation the LED indicator light turns blue i.e. while washing, and after the work is one the same changes to green. Also there are three different work stages for different types of washing. With a rechargeable Lithium ion battery that allows to be working under submerged conditions. So just wash away your worries with this dishwasher.

tScan : Sleek and Compact Scanner Concept

You are getting into the last minute preparation for all important presentation. All the slides are in order and suddenly you realize one important piece of information has not been added! All you have is a print out; you need to scan it and no scanner to be found. tScan is a concept scanner, designed by Giuseppe Russo. The best thing about the scanner is that it is sleek and compact. With dimensions 350mm x 100mm and a thickness of 35mm, it’s just the right size for you.

As they say good things come in small packages, this pocket sized powerhouse, has A4, A3 and tape scan mode. And the advantage is that you can carry it anywhere with you. It is compact on the desk, doesn’t occupy much space and with the sleek you can flaunt it anywhere.

With the buttons in place to select the mode i.e. A3, A4or Tape mode, and guide and roller in place so that it can guide the paper through it, the top portion has the optical so that it can scan the document. Also one can detach the scanner and place it on top over the document to scan it e.g. while scanning a book and then chose the mode and voila … you have a scanned copy for the page!
