Ondo Music Editing Phone Concept : Play It, Mix It, Rock Out To It !

The Onyx; this was the model mobile phone which took the more traditional keypad to a whole new level by introducing the touch screen edge. With just a finger or a joystick you could click your way to revelation. But even with the pomp and color that Synaptics and Pilotfish, who are interface developers and industrial studio designers respectively, launched Onyx, it still wasn’t good enough to get sold.

But it may have become the harbinger of future mobile phone concept developments. With Pilotfish, a new development in the concept of phone music editing was born. The Ondo combines the touch screen ability with a back that lithely twists and turns to allow for fast and comprehensive editing of desired music on the phone.

This new concept according to Pilotfish is a bid to lessen the burden of mobile phone manipulation especially for those who find it hard to even understand the features and also make music enthusiasts happy. Of course we can not conclusively judge the efficiency of this designed concept but the need for a classy easy to use music editor has always been in the heart of mobile phone music lovers who want a calling phone with an Ipod like concept among its features.

MUNICH, Germany – April 20, 2009 — Pilotfish, a progressive industrial design and product development studio based in Munich, Amsterdam and Taipei, today introduced Ondo, a dedicated music editing phone concept. The Ondo concept enables OEMs to visualize a new form of user interaction for mobile phones. User The target user for “Ondo” is the music enthusiast who seeks to interactively capture and edit sounds. Going beyond software-based solutions of other products, it is specifically designed to effectively collect pure sounds and is specially constructed to create a tactile sound editing experience.

Music Editing
Made from form-sensitive flexible materials, “Ondo” allows the user to modify recorded sounds by physically twisting and bending the device. Like a guitarist pulling on a whammy bar, users can feel and hear the musical effects as they create them.

Jamming
Another innovative feature of “Ondo” are the three removable display ”sticks”. In their normal state, the “sticks” act as a unified touch display for the mobile device. When removed, each can be separately clipped onto a musical instrument or person to capture live sound. Like a portable recording studio, “Ondo” makes mixing tracks easy, because each “stick” picks up isolated sounds from each individual instrument. The recordings can be immediately sent via MMS (Multimedia Messaging) around the globe allowing musicians at different geographical locations to jam together.

Mixing
In party mode, “Ondo” works as a digital mixer enabling the user to create seamless transitions between songs. This is made easy with interactive touch functions combined with integrated software support.

Market Opportunities
The advantage of such a device is that a range of services and accessories can accompany it in order to enhance the sound capturing and editing experience. From a business perspective, most of the players in the mobile world can benefit: for example, content creators – by providing sound libraries or musical games for download; operators – by facilitating increased user interaction; and device manufacturers – by producing accessories such as input devices, Bluetooth instruments, etc.

D:Scribe Digital Pen Helps You Send Emails and SMS by Writing It Down on Paper

D:Scribe is a digital fountain pen designed by Reuben Png, a student of New South Wales University, that will allow you to send email messages and SMS from paper. All you have to do is write down the message by using the keyboard or keypad, whatever you name it, and circle the name of the person to send it in a more personalized way of communicating. You can access the previously written messages through a computer since the pen records everything you write. To express your thoughts freely, this device allows messaging through sketches which can convey your message beyond your words.

The human touch in communication is easily lost in today’s digital age. Hindrances to communication can include the interface of buttons, screens and keyboards. D:Scribe enables users to communicate with others in a way that comes most naturally, through handwriting.

D:Scribe uses a high quality writing nib befitting that of a precision writing instrument, as opposed to current digital ballpoint pens in the market. The nib can be rotated to suit the user’s handwriting grip style. The optical sensor beneath the nib is in a central position, as opposed to current digital ballpoint pens. As such the centred scanner is much more effective.

SMS and email messages are sent via bluetooth to a mobile phone or computer, without the user having to take out his/her mobile phone. In a social context, this is perceived to be a less anti-social activity than pressing buttons on a mobile phone to text someone.

The cell phone market over the years has turned out to be a segment with the least shelf life, thereby a constant process for manufacturers to come up with new models. Today cell phone is not just an instrument to make and receive calls but far beyond that. The new walkman phone Premiere 3 by KDDI for Sony Ericsson, slated for spring release is a powerhouse so to say. It features a 3″ VGA screen, auto focus camera, and a memory of 2GB and weighing a meager 113gms, and quite compact in size. Ply Multilayered Phone Concept (All in One)

The new ply concept Japan’s phone is surely an instrument to be kept for. The phone has a look which seems like multiple layers of sandwich in plywood. The design seems more like picked straight from the spy movies, with multiple sliders, which are separated by tabs. It has a printer, a game pad, and even projector packaged into one. Add to this a dial pad for the normal phone functions, which slide downwards. It can be said to be a cool device that has a solution to all the possible devices that a normal user may need in daily usage.

Wearable Cell Phone Concept for Fashion Victims

Watches do just one thing, and you can find them in million of models and prices. Now they are a trendy accessory rather than only an instrument to sign the time. Why not try to do the same with mobile phones? Fashion victims could wearing it like a jewel with a special cover and elastic string according with some elegant dress. A phone to show, not to hide in the bag or pocket.

Often ring tones are irritating for the others and if you want use vibrating-call that is not always useful if the phone is far from you. Wearing the phone, vibrating-call is more practical because it vibrates on the hand. I think the gesture of shaking the thumb and pinky to call is natural for the people. You can have the phone always ready to use, and putting microphone and speaker very close at your ear and mouth is possible use it also in noisy places. You can continue to catch objects or use a pen. Another more serious reason to use it, is for people that have fear of electro smog from mobile phones. Separating the microphone and the speaker is possible to adapt them according the personal shape of human cranium and to keep the electromagnetic field far from the head. Need is A Simple Concept Cell Phone

Today in any conventional cell phone instrument users can listen to music, use it as a camera (both video and still), see time, set reminders, use as a diary, use as a calendar, play games, check mails, phew! And yes you can use it as phone to make calls too! Well, “Need” is just that – a phone, no mp3 player no camera just phone plain and simple.

The phone has 2 screens of which one is touch screen while the other is OLED; though users can customize the OLED. The phone also has sliding scroll which can be moved up and down, with the phone being in lock mode if the scroll is on top and while scrolling down the screen, users can see the signal and battery strength, and when the scroll is below one can access the phonebook as well. Thus Need Cell Phone is surely a device for the purists.
