Magnet offers quite unique from both visual and spec aspects. The designer has given comprehensive effort to give the phone an uncommon outlook. This smart mobile phone features a high previous to light OLED display and a large solar cell panel which will recharge the phone all the time. This will allow the device a longer battery life which is the most concerning issue in the recent mobile phone industry. Moreover, the user can change the structure of the Magnet’s panel as they want.

If you are a U.S. resident age 18 and older, you can have a chance to design your vision of the next revolutionary LG mobile phone and compete for more than $80,000 in awards. CHICAGO, IL. – April 21, 2009 – LG Mobile Phones (the fastest growing mobile phone brand in North America) is partnering with crowdSPRING (an online marketplace for creative services) and Autodesk (a leader in 2D and 3D design and engineering software) to hold a new competition to define the future of personal mobile communication. Starting today, U.S. residents age 18 and over can have a chance to design their vision of the next revolutionary LG mobile phone and compete for more than $80,000 in awards.

This year’s competition is even bigger and better than last year’s with first place awarded $20,000, second place awarded $10,000 and third place awarded $5,000. And to reward as many people as possible in the name of creativity, LG will be giving out a whopping 40 honorable mentions of $1,000 plus an LG U.S. phone!

“We’re very excited about this competition because it gives consumers, professionals, students and design enthusiasts all a chance to exercise their creative imaginations and have their ideas be heard. You don’t have to work for LG to make an impact on the future of mobile phones,” said Ehtisham Rabbani, V.P. of product strategy and marketing for LG Electronics MobileComm, U.S.A, Inc.

Autodesk will supply participating designers with a free 15-day trial of SketchBook Pro. Autodesk SketchBook Pro software is a digital sketchpad. A paint and drawing application for use on the Mac or PC, it offers an intuitive, streamlined user interface so even new users can be productive within minutes. The 15-day trial will give all competitors access to industry-leading professional design software and levels the playing field for professional and amateur designers alike to create the phone of their dreams.

Both seasoned and aspiring designers can submit their entries until June 7th at www.crowdspring.com/LG

The Balance Mobile Phone Concept with Ergonomics Design

The Balance of Communication concept was developed with ergonomics in mind. A shape which fits in hand well is coupled with a new weight distribution of the components. The heavy parts are located on the bottom part of the phone, leaving the top with only a very thin and light display. The keypad is big for the ease of use – many people are frustrated by the small keypads on current phones. The design tries to eliminate the sealed case look by using an exoskeleton as a feature. The strong side beams are the structurally supportive elements of the design, giving the aesthetics a visual flow, and communicating the idea of ergonomics.

Heikki says :

“This concept was done as an exercise for my modeling skills, and as an alternative experiment concept for the phone industry. I believe concepts should provoke feelings and discussion, in both good and bad. It’s a great way to learn and develop further designs. It’s also interesting to see how people are willing to sacrifice ergonomics and usability for values that are made up, such as status and the bling factor. I find this an important and challenging thing to consider as a designer.”

A cool and innovative concept designed by Rune Larsen shows the new cell phone with concept of changing shapes. It’s sleek and clean design makes it the best choice for any gadget lover. As per this concept, this cell phone will have 2 layers of plastic, one flexible and the other one would be hard with special liquid inside it. When the liquid is pushed between the layers they can form different shapes on the surface. As the mobile phone is capable of changing its shapes with the touch on its screen, it will surely bring a revolution in the mobile industry.
