Usually, the slide-phones are designed in a way that they look closed when you see them first and when they open up, users can see a step as well as the sliding surface on the backside of the upper portion. TO2 is a marvelously designed sliding phone that looks like a slide-phone when it is closed and when it is open, the step or the sliding surfaces can’t be seen on its backside, giving an impression that it’s meant to be open. TO2 is designed in a black piano finish that gives it a classy look. Moreover, the giant display and the unique keypad give it a modern touch.

Industrial designer Kevin O’Doherty has designed few outstanding telescopes with handy features and superb appearances. Automobile designers today are thinking beyond the available designs and technologies. The same is not just confined to the cars or bikes, but also to other means of transport like boats. This new concept boat by industrial designer Andrew Bedov, promises to be an eye catcher and designed with traffic stopping looks. The speed boat by its looks seems to be on the move even when it is standing on the shore. The length of a boat exceeds 30 meters with 30 knots as its maximum speed. The two tiered boat design is aerodynamic, which ensures that the boat cruises through waters while it cuts through air. Truly a marvelous design must say and only one word to describe it – WOW!

Shanghai Tower by Gensler

Gensler or the new Shanghai tower coming up in China being developed in the Shanghai’s Luijiazui Finance and Trade Zone will be a marvelous structure once it is completed. Slated to open in 2014, this structure will be a par of the financial center in China. The sky craper in all consists of nine cylindrical buildings stacked on top of one another with an overall cover draping the building into one unit. The building will be the tallest tower in China. The structure will see a mixed use for houses, business, cafes and restaurants. It is modern and eco-friendly completed with rain water harvesting module. It is surely going to be a tower worth waiting for.

Bright-F : Let’s Hear Your Colors

We live in a very bright and colorful world around us. The creator has added color into every aspect of our lives. Life seems bland if it does not have its share of color. We use our eyes to distinguish colors. We differentiate a green leaf from a red flower. It is hard to imagine how a blind person identifies color? Especially when he lacks the tool that helps him in distinguishing the same? Understanding these challenges, designer Lifeng Yu has come up with a perfect solution. Called as the Bright–F, it distinguishes different colors and speaks out the same through a speaker i.e vision changed into sounds.

Bright-F has a program of practical teaching about colors which can help the blind to know the action of the colors, such as the way of composing garments of different colors, how to avoid clothing dyeing, and how the colors influent people’s motions. Flashlight can bring bright to most people in the dark except the blind people. However, the shape of Bright-F, which comes from the flashlight, can bring the brightness in colors to the blind. By touching the flashlight-like outside of this design, the blind people can easily associate the function of it. This can bring them more confidence about life.

Bright F on the first look looks like a normal pen torch, with an LED in front. The LED can light the object and make it show the original color. On the side walls is the battery power of the device. If all the four lights are glowing that means that the power is full.

On top are two buttons that seem like the turn on/off buttons in torchlight, but of the two the front button is the leaning system while the rear button is the one that is the identification system. On the back top portion is the speaker with the adjustable knob for volume control. How marvelous is it that a person who is blind, can really feel the color and can think and imagine the colors based on he sound it creates.
