Zafiro is conceptual desktop PC with really stylish and innovative appearance, it resembles a lot with the hand or body gestures of Tom Cruise in the movie. The Zafiro concept also comprises the deformable metal of Cobalto which allows the keyboard to get flattened when idle.

Barton explanations :
Firstly is the idea that people can have only what they need, when they need it. This is due to the distinct separation of a computer’s functions into six categories called ‘experiences’. Currently, if a user wishes to purchase a computer purely for documenting and internet they must accept that it will come with processing power and features well beyond these needs. With the Stream concept, however, users would purchase only the Connections and Documents modules as well as the Core Component to perform only these functions. The Connections module also acts as a phone, which leads to the second benefit of this system.

Many users today are faced with both an overlap of functions, content and components. In the previous example, the user’s computer would be capable of making calls through VOIP (a technology most likely to overtake traditional GSM networks), however there is no way of taking this one component of the machine with them. Instead, they must purchase another product – a phone – to fulfill this need. But now they have two devices capable of making calls, browsing the internet, emailing and taking photos as well as two interfaces to learn. Another example is how users have music on both their computer and a portable device such as an iPod. Multiply this over the abundance of consumer products we possess, and the problem worsens exponentially. However because of the Experience Modules and the adaptive nature of Stream, this issue is eradicated. The device they use at home or the office is the same device they use in the car or on the bus. All that changes is the screen size and possibly the addition of Component Modules.

The Component Modules are just as important to the system as the Experience Modules. Users who require greater processing power for activities such as gaming or high end design, still purchase the Core Component but also the necessary Component Modules to meet their needs. The Experience Modules are designed relative to their function. For example the Games and Connections modules have far more complex logic boards, capable of wireless connections to more powerful processors. This ensures that the price of the system is fair across all desired functions or experiences.

The Stream system is more portable and expandable than current systems, it offers a more natural and personal experience for the user and is more environmentally friendly in doing so. It can be an ultra-portable laptop, camera-phone, or games console. It is what the user wants it to be.

“Failing to manage laundry and piles of dirty clothes is one of the many daily chores that are left unattended by so many busy people, whose jobs doesn’t leave them with time to take care of them. Whether you have a washing machine in your home or go to the corner laundromat, doing wash is a royal pain. Especially for the i-generation, who had whole hours pass in the blink of an eye, sometimes whole days get eaten up in some black hole and so household chores pile up. With a view to offer a little help, I have designed iBasket – a revolutionary washing machine that could really make life easier.

The i-generation are too busy working for their dreams. What if the whole laundry thing could be forgotten and both time and attention are saved for dream work?

The idea is to use this as a hamper, throwing your dirty clothes in as they accumulate. The iBasket then senses when the load is full and initiates the wash and dry cycle. Since it is Wi-Fi-enabled, you can control and monitor (if you’d like to do so) the concept washing machine via your PC or mobile device. Once the the cycle is complete, iBasket will alert you and send a message to your PC or mobile”

Public telephones and other public services (such as Automatic telling machines, Internet services, informational services) that are put in streets for more convince to customers consume electric energy. Not only for illumination but for different digital devices such as computers, LCDs, information panels, wireless devices… More and more of these services will be available on streets and more energy will be needed to support them. Solar public multipurpose booths provide, whatever the apparatus is inside, with necessary energy. Also every booth has lights that are powered by the same solar panels.

Bus stops with their large protective panels provide ideal space for application of solar cells. Generally, bus stops do not use much energy and in this way they can help other users from the SOLAR STREET FAMILY that use more electricity. Even more, the electricity collected by the Solar bus stops can be used by any other user as they are all connected to each other as well as to electric company. Lights of the bus stop itself are positioned in the base of solar panel and in the bus stop seating directed toward ground.

Solar park lamp uses the same MoSESS (Movement Sensors Energy Saving System) as Solar street lamp to reduce energy consumption. In the same way it recharges its batteries during the day and in the night uses it for illumination.

Solar street stand booths are popular way of shopping. They can sell and show different kinds of things ranging from food, clothes, souvenirs to information pamphlets and ads. These street stands consume electric energy for illumination, refrigerators, cooking…etc. Solar panel stores electric energy in batteries that are placed in the storage box. Solar street counters are independent from electric company network. They can be easily moved and placed into different locations by trucks (and small transportation wheels underneath the construction of the counter itself).
