Key features of the Cosmic Trac include single sheet hood, safety head lamp, FRP head lights, serviceability, cost affectivity, etc. The head lamp cluster is designed in a housed way, ensuring complete safety for the lights unlike traditional projecting head lamp that always tend to break easily. The exposed engine parts and projected grill gives hi-tech feel which helps for the strength and aggression of the tractor. The fender is covered partly aiming complete driver’s safety. The dark grey and shiny blue color scheme has improved the visual impact of the tractor as a functional futuristic farming vehicle instead of making it a not acceptable tool for the target future farmers.

What was the inspiration for your concept?
In my opinion, everything I have ever seen, read and heard is my inspiration. Every experience stays somewhere inside you, and if you are lucky, it will come out at the right moment. If I look back, this particular concept was definitely inspired by the book The Naked Sun from Isaac Asimov, the R2-D2 robot from Star Wars, an egg, insects, and whatever else I see every day.

How does your concept fit into this year’s competition theme “Designs for the next 90 years”?
Ninety years is very long time. Nearly four generations will pass through, every one of them with its own dreams, desires and possibilities. One long lasting dream is to reach the stars, but before that, we will have to reach Mars to see whether or not we can live without Earth. This is the time where my concept is relevant. At that time, we won’t think of machines as dumb boxes with buttons, but more as partners that obey our commands, but still have their own minds. They will be more autonomous and think and make decisions on their own. It may sound frightening, but it isn’t scarier than the first arrival of trains to the cities.

What are the main consumer benefits of your concept?
One thing you notice on Mars is the silence and serenity. That’s quite good for one week’s vacation in the countryside, but for modern people it’s very depressing to live in such a place for several months or years. Therefore, the main benefit of Le Petit Prince is that it’s not just a machine, but more like a pet or silent friend that you can speak to when you aren’t in the mood to talk to people. On top of that, it is a good gardener that grows any plant you want or need to bare life or just for its beauty.

Describe the consumer research behind your concept.
Well, I must admit it’s difficult to do any real research behind the concept since it’s designed for Mars. However, some of my friends said it’s cute (I always thought some of them have to be from Mars) and I consider their feedback sufficient.

What kind of materials would you use to build your concept?
Metallurgy, glass production and synthetic plastics have been used for a long time and will probably continue to be used in the next hundred years, so I didn’t feel an urge to use new yet unknown materials. Nanotechnology made giant leaps in the last few years and it will improve properties of material surfaces in the future, so they will be even harder and more resistant than anything we know today. More effective (even transparent) are solar panels, etc., but this evolution will not affect the fundamentals of my concept.

The interior of VIU was designed aiming the needs of the future users by serving as a living means of transportation. The design of the dashboard stimulates the eye with two lateral LED lights that indicates an efficient driving meter and a tachometer. The 1+1 sitting arrangement of the car offers the exciting movement of a motorcycle together with the safety of a closed car. As the road turns, the car cabin inclinates with the turn and the back seat rotates following the turn to offer maximum driving excitement to the driver.

Up the drivers seat, there is a fan to blow on the drivers back and shoulders to motivate him and to provide an excitingly fresh environment during the hot season when moisture accumulate on the seat, another air fan is there to dissipate the moisture. The steering wheel is actually a drumming pad, which can jam in the speakers when the user drums on the wheel spontaneously. This extremely cost-effective vehicle will cost five cents only with Eneloop batteries for one month, eight hours a day use.

The non-gravitational environment offers the liberation of forces which is a great way to relax your body to the full. This concept has been designed to create a room with perfect conditions to achieve dynamic balance between psychological and physical aspects of an organism. Various features like color and light, adjustable temperature and pressure, and lack or gravity of course have helped to attain the most possible perfect relaxing condition. Other important feature of this concept is flexibility that has made it easily movable and reusable.

The main idea of creating Capsule was to offer a fun vehicle which offers a feel of freedom and effortless communicating technology. The design includes a full functional multi touch display with satellite internet connectivity which ensures the vehicle cannot be stolen or lost. The horizontal screen wiper is set with side rails which acts along the pillars, and act as water channels as well. The powertrain of Capsule features all-wheel driving system along with electric motors that are helpful to run the car on lofty mountains. This electric car recharges its batteries with the roof-mounted solar panel which can assure 4 hours continuous drive.

The included GPS navigation system can connect with other Capsules and rear view mirrors have been replaced with external cameras which are visualizing on two LCD displays inside the cockpit.

“We looked back in history and discovered that until the end of the Victorian period it was quite well accepted for women to smoke pipes in Europe, but due to cultural changes it became unfashionable, thus eventually becoming associated strictly with masculinity over the course of the last century.

The real inspiration came from looking at women in the golden age of smoking, from the 1940s to the 1960s, when it was common to use a cigarette holder to extend the distance from cigarette to mouth to cool the smoke. You can probably guess that this culminated in the iconic image of Audrey Hepburn in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” with long black gloves and equally long black cigarette holder.

It was this image that convinced us that, for an object, the secret to feminine elegance is a simple linear slenderness. That’s what we tried to communicate in the fipa.”
