Starting from the package I received, a cool sleek package with the heading “Audio Revolution in a Box”, which really enhances the attention. I have opened the package and yeah I got a bit disappointed since almost all the portable speakers come in a pair. Well I must say this feeling got away as soon as I plugged in the little monster with my iPod. But still, I wish I had 2 X-Mini 2nd Generation speakers to make better comparison with X-Mini Max. The compact, innovative, capsule shaped design combining with the superb sound clarity it delivers through its large 40mm driver; this is a perfect audio enhancement that can make any sort of music or video player into an individual or group entertainment point. If features high capacity rechargeable battery that can offer around 11 hours of continuous playback which is three times more than its predecessors.

Since I have only one X-Mini 2nd Generation, I couldn’t check but found online in several reviews of this speaker that it can be connected to another and so on, forming a bass-enhanced, self-powered chain of speaker system. This is obviously a cool feature which is quite rare too. In fact to get the experience, I am already searching if any of my friends bought it. It features a built-in volume control too which I personally prefer to keep in max and adjust the volume as much I want from my media player. The LED light shows that it’s turned on.

When it comes about the cables, it is handy in many ways. The main connecting cable has three ports; the mini-USB end goes to the speaker, the 2.0 one goes to the pc and the 3.5mm jack to the media player, whether it’s an iPod, MP3 player or a laptop. Aside from that, the speaker contains a tiny audio connecting cable that can be neatly tucked into the base. Even though, the minimum use of wire has eliminated the hassle a lot, I just wondered a wireless connection using Bluetooth or Wi-Fi or any other means would have made the gadget out of the world.

The size of the speaker is really tiny. I’ve compared with few other portable speakers online, say for an example its cousin X-Mini Max II, and have found it the tiniest among all others of the same range. Moreover, the balance of convenient portability and great sound quality has been done perfectly and accordingly a user would like. The thing I like most of my X-Mini 2nd Generation speaker is its extendable vacuum that imitates the feel of a sub-woofer; you can feel the vibration distinctly when it is playing on your hand, which is able to produce bass and volume over around ten times of its physical size.

Overall, the X-Mini 2nd Generation speaker seems very much stylish with me and everyone I’ve shown it has praised its design and performance. I really loved the speaker and considering the tiny shape and reasonable price, I will surely consider buying one more to get louder sound experience. [Buy it here]

The idea is to make an amphibious vehicle that can be used on land, ice and on water. Inside each wheel is an electric engine, which has energy from batteries. To realize these points the vehicle needs to be adaptable to the environment and use. This problem is solved by a specially designed tire.

Intelligent wheel system
The wheel exists of movable parts which can increase traction or even transform in a paddle wheel to propel the vehicle in the water. The wheel is controlled by terrain sensors which decide when more or less traction is needed. This system provides the vehicle with more safety because it can answer to different kind of terrains.

Renting concept
When making a vehicle that can do almost anything it will be certain it is going to cost a lot of money. For students to be able to afford it, there could be a renting system. For example for 5 euros a day the tourists and students could rent the vehicle. Cheap price could be achieved by sticker advertising.

“A hybrid airship is actually a hybrid between an airship and an airplane, deriving roughly two thirds of its lift from buoyancy of lighter than air gas, and the remaining third from aerodynamic lift generated by wings. The outcome is a craft which when loaded is only slightly heavier than the air around it, and therefore requires very little effort to become airborne and even less effort to cruise comfortably at around 120mph.

The Airship One has a semi-rigid construction, Aluminum and fiber composite frame supporting PU fabric ballonets filled with lighter than air, non flammable Helium gas. Propulsion is provided by four DC electric motors, which during cruise receive their energy from solar panels mounted on the hull and wings, and during takeoff also from a bio-diesel generator. The ship can take off and land vertically, with no need for a runway of any kind.

With its 30-ton cargo capacity and a double-deck passenger compartment which can accommodate some 25 passengers with levels of comfort that by far exceed those of the most luxurious airliner.

While currently only a concept, I strongly believe that in the not too distant future machines like the Airship One will offer a quiet, efficient and eco-friendly alternative to air transport.”

Natura Levo is a small wind, vertical axis wind turbine. It is a 66″ tall turbine that contains two non-traditional blades that can catch wind from any direction. These blades are fastened within a unique steel component which also houses the tapered bearings allowing the blades to spin with little friction. The center axis is a beautifully formed stationary shape that mounts to existing architecture. The intended architecture can be anything ranging from a telephone pole, to an old chimney mount, to a flag pole in a residential back yard. Natura Levo is intended to harness energy from a renewable energy source while co-existing with its natural surroundings. Natura Levo should be so beautiful that it raises awareness of natural energy by admiration of its design.

Natura Levo is made primarily of Novomer plastic, with necessary steel bearings, adjustable cylinder mount, and small housings. The steel components are machined, and with the exception of the housings, these are standard forms. The remaining steel pieces would be machined in 3 separate entities and welded together. The axis is Novomer and injection blow molded; the blades are a bit more involved. They would be formed in 4 pieces and snapped together. The nature of the rotation would strengthen the fastened segments by using the natural force. These 4 pieces would be injection molded.

The design of canvas aims to enhance the life and productivity of those in creative professions. By making the PC experience seem natural and familiar, a non-digital designer or artist can use Canvas and have the experience of traditional design with speed and productivity of a PC.

Designers and artists like the feel of pencil to paper, they don’t like to be limited to what the can do, and most importantly they like to use their creative talents to do what they do best.

Overview of Design:
Canvas emulates traditional design techniques to allow digital and non-digital designers and artist to have an increased level of quality and productivity in their work.

Aesthetics:
Canvas is designed to be sleek and stylish to match the designer it was meant for.

Technical Aspects:
The screen will be OLED based and backlit by ultra-thin LEDs to keep the thickness of the screen down. The toolbars on the sidebars will be displayed by electronic ink to conserve battery life. The screen will be covered in glass and the remainder will be made of aluminum. This will allow the PC to be recycled when the time comes.

Scenarios of Use:
Canvas is designed to be used like “paper”, or an advanced tablet, and then be transformed for traditional PC uses.

User Interface:
The toolbars and auxiliary information are displayed separately on the sidebars allowing the workspace to be completely blank. This keeps the main screen dedicated as a workspace with nothing to inhibit the users productivity.
