RocStar Faucet, Basin, and The Mirror by Hany Mansour

The innovative RocStar Bathroom concept has been designed aiming to overcome the limits of the conventional bathrooms and heighten the efficiency of the same. It features three main components that have been differentiated it from others; the faucet or the Rocstar, the basin and the mirror.

The Faucet comprises five arms with different functionality such as three of them are supplying water, liquid soap and toothpaste, and the last two acts as driers. The Rocstar top is made of transparent plastic with lighting underneath which acts as control sensors and allow users activating a particular arm by simply touching it. After being activated that arm will give a magnificent led light and smoothly turns to the user. Other activities such as changing the water temperature, screen savers and profile colors, driers, etc. can be done with the center top touch screen of the Rocstar.

The basin has been designed to protect the users from viruses and other diseases that the users might infected with usual basins. Moreover, the color of the basin can be changed with the led effects and can be programmed to change the color every time someone enters into the bathroom. More surprisingly, the color of the spot where the water drops on the basin can be changed as well. There are exterior buttons on the stainless steel area on the basin that can control the covering and sterilization procedure and selecting profiles.

The mirror includes a digital camera which can be controlled from the rocstar through wireless system to know different previous conditions of your skin color, pimples, medicines, etc. The mirror will capture your photo every time you go to the bathroom which can be reviewed later for comparison. X-Mini Max II Speakers Review

X-Mini Max II speakers are available in three colors, Black, Red and White. The one I have is red and when I hold it for the first time, it gave me an impression that I am holding a hippopotamus egg. I must appreciate this expertly designed ultra-portable speaker that is precisely engineered to provide superior quality sound with around 12 hours continuous playback battery life. [Buy it here]

The speaker pair remains attached with one another and can be detached with easy twist and lift. The connecting cable contains two mini USB ports that go to both speakers, one USB 2.0 goes to the PC for charging and the 3.5mm audio output jack to the source of music, whether it is an iPod, Mac or usual MP3 players. Both the speakers have LED lights to indicate it as switched ON. The pop open Bass Xpansion System mimics the resonance of a powerful sub-woofer and enhances the style of these speakers.

Difference between these speakers and X-Mini 2nd Generation is quite clear. First one is X-Mini Max II comes in two pieces, whereas X-Mini 2nd Generation offers a single speaker only. Another remarkable difference is the volume controller is embedded with the connecting cable in X-Mini Max II, on the other hand, you can find it on the body of X-Mini 2nd Generation. Moreover, the tiny connector cable in X-Mini 2nd Generation that remains tucked with the base is absent in X-Mini Max II. And finally, the size is also an important factor about these two. Max II is larger in size, therefore, it is able to produce louder sound as well. Aside from the identical shape, there are few similarities among them too, such as both of them are using 40mm driver and features “Buddy Jack” design, allowing connecting many speakers like a chain. So, when buying one of them, you should consider the portability along with your need of greater sound.

The making of these speakers seem quite strong to me. I can feel that it is strong enough to survive minor fall in the ground or any rough surface. There are rubber soles under the base to make it slip-resistant. Overall, I think as a portable mini speaker set, the X-Mini Max II has it all.

The table is outlined as a tree with branches of tiny circles which will allow the user to place and remove drink glasses easily, while the table itself looks like a small party place decorated with various colorful drinks and food. The branches of the table are connected to the main stand individually which have made it even more stable and easy to use.

Nature : Modern and Innovative Ceramic Planter

Nature is an innovative ceramic planter that has the ability to grow a range of herbs and flowers. The design is inspired from the shapes and patterns found in nature, which can be revealed from its name. The concept comprises several openings like blossoms with various forms, and the plants are placed according to their root size, topmost opening is designed to make room for plants with deeper roots. The planter features a complex mold with six parts and seventeen post-molding cuts. All the pieces are carefully cast, finished by hand and glazed in Portland, Oregon. Drainage of the system is controlled by the three holes on the bottom. The planter is 18” tall and 22” wide, and is available in three colors, gray, white and yellow, and is ideal for both indoor and outdoor use.

LaCie Desktop and Portable Hard Drive by Philippe Starck

The LaCie portable hard drive with its brushed aluminum wrapping and mirror-polished chrome finish has attained the solid look and performance even for rough handling. The designers have given it a brilliant touch of elegance which can be revealed through its status LED light that glows in orange color with the signature “+” of the manufacturer. By simply touching the chrome surface will launch an application or trigger a shortcut followed by turning the orange light into green. If you hold your touch for a little longer, the device will back up your data automatically from the desktop or notebook. Desktop LaCie hard drives come in one or two terabyte storage capacity, while the portable version features 320 GB and 500 GB capacity.

The Calm Lamp is a futuristic lamp concept that features OLED lights, creating pleasant light like daylight. According to the user’s need, it can be programmed dynamically to offer different lighting conditions. Also, the OLED technology has made the light able to change its color, intensity, directions and wandering shadows to make the indoor artificial lighting into a more natural one. Aside from switching it on through the main light switch, this unique and innovative development can be controlled via a full functional remote control with touch screen surface. The featured OLED technology has made it environment friendly and energy efficient.

Mytho : Innovative Transportation for Better Urban Commuting in The Future

Mytho is an innovative and interesting private and public transportation idea focused on creating a better urban commuting for future. The design of this car is inspired mainly by all the iconic and traditional figures of SF. The very “American” design has a perfect touch of elegance and sophistication with a deep black and shiny silver color combination and a unique appearance from both front and rear end. The lightweight construction of Mytho has been achieved through using recyclable materials. The car features modern technologies like GPS and high speed internet connectivity that ensures the rider a safer and more convenient driving experience in new places.

Victor says about Mytho :

The MYtho, is a concept car designed to be simple, but at the same time sophisticated. With inspiration from vintage cars, like the woodies, i was able to find a sustainable design solution for the side panels, which are made of compressed wood also the whole body is made of aluminum, in order to be recyclable.

The “tech” factor is in it’s OLED displays, build-in solar cells, and HUD display’s for the driver.

The form of the car is very simple, like the hot rods from the 30’s. The open wheel design, the huge front grill, and the low profile of the car, are just some indicators of this.

Loop Vignette : Eco-Friendly and Lightweight 2-Seater Electric Car for Next Generation

Loop Vignette is an eco-friendly and lightweight 2-seater concept electric car designed for the next generation riders aiming to customize the mobility ideas with more closely associated lifestyle products, technological gadgetry and the Internet. The outcome is therefore a brand new, sophisticated, fun, desirable and most significantly affordable experience which the target customer can relate to.

The design comprises both economic and technical efficiency. The chassis is covered in an unpainted swappable plastic skin, which eliminates the painting stage. The placement of the rear wheels within the rear quarter panel offer improved aerodynamics. The rear and front façade of the car contains thin-film OLEDs under the colored polycarbonate surfaces, through which users can personalize parameters like day-running lights or graphically expressing themselves by adding custom decals. This feature will also eliminate the need of placing individual lights for turn indicators or brakes.

The dashboard has been kept minimal for individual movable components; rather it contains a huge touch screen where most of the interactions between the car and the rider will take place. While driving, users can keep their other works going on through the internet connectivity and share their driving experience through social networking websites.

Honda RA-X Two Seater Concept Sportscar

Honda RA-X is the latest concept sportscar inspired by the beginning of motorsport competition during the 60s and hence was named as RA similar with the first F1 cars in distinctive white and yellow colors. This two-seater concept car comprises MR engine and back transmission with a capacity of over 350 hp, while the position of the exhaust pipes positively reminds the RA300 F1. The design features innovative smooth crossing lines in the surface that forms a theoretical X. The car’s engine can be seen through a glass and predominates at the back side of the engine vent with optical technology-led groups forming a triangular shape. The inlets are merged with optical groups on the front and the dimensions of the car are: length 4050 x height 1163 x 1940 Wide.

Triclo : Innovative Tricycle Concept for Urban Environment

The Triclo is an innovative tricycle concept, featuring the functionality of a paddling tricycle, while offering the outlook of a futuristic transportation means. This vehicle is designed to make room for one person only and comprises paddles with a convenient sitting arrangement. The Triclo has a steering wheel instead of conventional tricycle handles and an innovative and unique rear wheel setup. It features a shade over the driver that will let the driver protected from the sun and mild rain.

Randall words about Triclo:

Triclo is a conceptual design of what a tricycle can be in a urban environment. It uses an organic forms and contemporary trend. Balance in visual volume and mass. Using arrays and knots was the basis for the formal development and geometric design.

The concept was: low material vs. high volume

The design is targeted for a younger market but can be used by adults too. The idea was to create a tricycle with a diferent look to capture the attention of people and thus encourage exercise. At the same time the concept of design is important to not use much material in the product and reduce costs.

A tricycle is more than a bicycle but less than a motorbike, but this tricycle has almost a cab, this protects of the sun and rain to the user. Therefore, that is its advantage over a motorcycle that somehow is to approach a car. Maybe this way, providing superior comfort offered by a bicycle or even a conventional tricycle, is a way for people interested in using the product and increasing exercise in the population. The design is targeted for a younger market but can be used by adults too.

The materials were designed to be recycled once they finish their service life. There are variety of colors to suit all tastes.
