MUNICH, Germany – April 20, 2009 — Pilotfish, a progressive industrial design and product development studio based in Munich, Amsterdam and Taipei, today introduced Ondo, a dedicated music editing phone concept. The Ondo concept enables OEMs to visualize a new form of user interaction for mobile phones. User The target user for “Ondo” is the music enthusiast who seeks to interactively capture and edit sounds. Going beyond software-based solutions of other products, it is specifically designed to effectively collect pure sounds and is specially constructed to create a tactile sound editing experience.

Music Editing
Made from form-sensitive flexible materials, “Ondo” allows the user to modify recorded sounds by physically twisting and bending the device. Like a guitarist pulling on a whammy bar, users can feel and hear the musical effects as they create them.

Jamming
Another innovative feature of “Ondo” are the three removable display ”sticks”. In their normal state, the “sticks” act as a unified touch display for the mobile device. When removed, each can be separately clipped onto a musical instrument or person to capture live sound. Like a portable recording studio, “Ondo” makes mixing tracks easy, because each “stick” picks up isolated sounds from each individual instrument. The recordings can be immediately sent via MMS (Multimedia Messaging) around the globe allowing musicians at different geographical locations to jam together.

Mixing
In party mode, “Ondo” works as a digital mixer enabling the user to create seamless transitions between songs. This is made easy with interactive touch functions combined with integrated software support.

Market Opportunities
The advantage of such a device is that a range of services and accessories can accompany it in order to enhance the sound capturing and editing experience. The Roborover robot is a talking, tread-based, roving explorer with an inquisitive personality that grows to become more confident as users navigate and play with him. The Roborover robot is operated via remote-control and features poseable arms, head and waist. This shy little explorer features spoken content, various driving-based games, infrared sensors for obstacle avoidance, and tilt sensors allowing him to perceive when he has fallen over. The Roborover robot also features a “Follow Me” homing function that will trigger this exploratory companion to search for his user – even in the dark! Sensor-based LED headlights will automatically turn on in the dark to illuminate his path.

In the first look it looks somewhat futuristic. The best thing is that it gives the exclusive privacy for the First Class traveler with everything their own in. Yes luxury has a new address! These S shaped cabins consist of seats which recline to give that extra comfort, the seat reclines into a fully flat bed, so passengers can sleep. There is iPod connectivity so passengers can plug in there iPod and view content on the FC suites large video monitor. Also TV for audio visual entertainment and a working table complete with drawers and storage spaces so that you can catch up with office if needed. And of course the space to keep that drink while catching up on the latest movie.

Mark Peurifoy, the designer also mentioned that United FC suite is currently flying on some international routes and will be introduced on selected Boeing 777, 747, 767 international routes during 2008/2009.

The USP of this design is that there is no wastage of space. With emphasis on optimum utilization of space, this is the design is something that any business traveler would approve of. United Airlines having understood that requirement seems to have done in these interiors to jazz up the business traveler of the future.
