The CandleAmp concept has been designed to give a pleasurable light in a room glowing from two clean, replaceable and sustainable soy candles. It features a simple push lighting and extinguishing the flames allowing the users to eliminate the candle associated inconvenience and safety issues with the insulating cover and sturdy wooden base.

The inspiration of the project was to attract more and more people as candle users in a more functional and stylish manner. The outcome is a compact, lightweight and ultra-portable lamp that has the required coverings for safety, visual elegance for style and easy and functional method of working for convenience, in short, a great handy tool for household.

Riviera Ecologic Idro-Pellet-Stove by Daniele Gualeni

Riviera is a Pellet Stove with an appearance of traditional wood burning stoves, but is safer, cleaner and more convenient to use. Riviera utilizes powerful microprocessor controls that can effectively heat a two to three bedroom home on its own, while ensuring less air pollution. Its thermal output can be adjusted from 3.5 to 17 Kw and the 35 kilos of hopper capacity and extraordinary 95% efficiency level has made it able to take care of both household hot water and running the radiators. The stove is dressed in majolica panels with precious old Venetian décor and is available in four different colors. Two different finishes on its black cast iron frame have given it an elegant appearance and allows the user to place it comfortably in either a fashionable or a more traditional setting.

BacVac Fuel Cell Vacuum Cleaner with Backpack-Style

Vacuum cleaners are an unavoidable appliance for those who would like to keep their households neat and clean. There are many available vacuum cleaners over the market but not many of them are as effective as BacVac, a fuel cell concept vacuum cleaner. This smart backpack-style vacuum cleaner is powered by an integrated fuel cell which allows the user to enjoy a cable free cleaning experience. The main goal of this vacuum cleaner is to meet the residential cleaning needs and is hanged over the users shoulder like a passenger bag. When recharging needed, the fuel cell can be reloaded with instantly available ethanol.

MO:BEN is A Portable Food Container That Can Heat-Up Your Food

Mo:Ben is a handy food container that includes a built-in film heater component that can heat up foods to a pre-heated temperature. Mo:Ben’s main mechanism of maintaining the heat is the combination of foam-filled cavity insulation and the built-in heating factor. There are two main parts of the device; one is the external box that features a carry grip, slip protective rubber base and cutlery storage, and another is the temperature sensitive substance for food preparation indication. The internal box holds the food and can be detached for convenient dish-washing. The arrangements inside the box are designed to encourage variety of food and mixing of food is prevented by different available compartments.

This design has been inspired by traditional Japanese ideals of functionality and simplicity of the bento box while fusing it with modern technology of heating, insulation and materials.

Refresh Your Clothes with Stratosphere

The Electrolux last year design competition challenged students to come up with appliance designs of the future and one such interesting design was the Stratosphere. Designed by Budapest based Hungarian student Attila Sáfrány, Stratosphere is a design of a clothes rack. This rack helps in storing the clothes if to be used again and helps to maintain hygiene as it sucks off all the germs and micro pollutants out of the clothes and these goes to the filter placed in the device and out come a clean cloth which can be used again whenever desired. All in all it’s a nice and clean concept.

Attila says :
Actually the Stratosphere is nothing more than the rethinking of the well-known valet. I have transposed it from the old days to the ambience of the Internet generation.

The Stratosphere answers a question well-known to all of us: namely our clothes we still want to wear for another day and don’t want to put in the laundry box we usually keep lying around the apartment, or most often, on the back of the chair.

It solves the problem by airing and refreshing them. It simply sucks in from the fabrics spread over the support imitating the back of the chair those micro-pollutant which carry chemicals responsible for unpleasant odors. Then channeling the air through the HEPA filter (where the dust particles get caught) and a UV-C light chamber (where odorous elements and viruses and bacteria get killed) it finally lets the air back to the natural circulation of the apartment. So it not only deodorizes clothes but gives protection against 99.9 percent of all respiratory diseases.

It’s not only a coincidence that the name refers to the layer of the Earth’s atmosphere where the UV-C radiation of the Sun (since there is no protective ozone) kills bacteria. Likewise the form intentionally resembles vegetal motives. Moreover with a household appliance which has been conceived for a new function and because of the naturalness of its use must be present permanently and actively in living space, just like a standard lamp or a vase, aesthetic functions can’t be neglected either

Baguni : The Integration of Laundry Basket and Washing Machine

Are you tired of doing the same old domestic task every day? Then try out “Baguni”, a washing machine that integrates a detachable laundry basket cum washing drum. Everyone needs a basket in order to collect laundry then the laundry basket is poured into the washing machine. Now, here comes the role of ‘Baguni’ as this laundry basket can be easily placed inside the washing machine and it serves as the washing machine drum. Once the washing process is done, the clean laundry can be detached from the washing machine along with the drum or the basket. Jihyung says : “The average household uses a laundry basket to collect dirty clothes and then when full, empties it into the laundry. But why not take out a step? Just put in the laundry itself!”. Hence, now onwards, you can get rid of the usual process of pouring the laundry from your basket.

iBasket : Futuristic Washing Machine Concept That Sends A Message to Your Mobile Device

Are you bored of your washing machine? Then you might wish to try out this Electrolux iBasket because it will automatically clean your clothes with transparency. It is designed by Guopeng Liang at China Tongji University during an Electrolux 2008 Design Lab Competition. It is a real innovation with great potential to make the process of washing clothes less daunting experience. This laundry hamper will automatically wash your clothes once enough clothes are tossed inside as per the weight. You can also control the frequency of wash cycles. The iBasket will also send you a message on your computer once the cleaning is done.

“Failing to manage laundry and piles of dirty clothes is one of the many daily chores that are left unattended by so many busy people, whose jobs doesn’t leave them with time to take care of them. Whether you have a washing machine in your home or go to the corner laundromat, doing wash is a royal pain. Especially for the i-generation, who had whole hours pass in the blink of an eye, sometimes whole days get eaten up in some black hole and so household chores pile up. With a view to offer a little help, I have designed iBasket – a revolutionary washing machine that could really make life easier.

The i-generation are too busy working for their dreams. What if the whole laundry thing could be forgotten and both time and attention are saved for dream work?

The idea is to use this as a hamper, throwing your dirty clothes in as they accumulate. The iBasket then senses when the load is full and initiates the wash and dry cycle. Since it is Wi-Fi-enabled, you can control and monitor (if you’d like to do so) the concept washing machine via your PC or mobile device. Once the the cycle is complete, iBasket will alert you and send a message to your PC or mobile”
