The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 with its 3.2” touchscreen has been officially unveiled after its sleek-looking predecessor X1. If you consider dimensions, the latest X2 is close to its previous version; however, it’s lighter than the X1. The X2 features a redesigned keypad just like that of a netbook and reveals by sliding out the upper portion. The 8.1 megapixel camera is one of the major upgrades of X2. Moixa has developed an apple sized device, named Sphere, with multi-touch feature allows a user to surf the world like Google Earth, control interactive games and browse web pages. Sphere can display an interactive map of world and can be recharged by releasing a leaf like petal. You will be able to zoom, select and rotational and gyroscopic tasks with its multi-touch interactions. Sphere is a sign of expanding IP collection of geometric forms that reorganize the axioms of portable advanced computing. This handy device is planned to finish the development process anytime this year and will be commercially available in the market in 2010.

G1 Phone Design for Google by Mike and Maaike

This is a G1 phone designed for Google by two San Francisco designers, Mike and Maaike. This is a unique phone using the Google’s open source operating system called as Android. The handset is quite stylish and has a 3.2 inch touch screen and a slide out QWERTY keyboard. This phone also incorporates a compass that helps you to navigate Google maps by turning the phone. G1 is produced by Taiwanese manufacturers HTC and is also available on T-mobile. The only advantage or unique thing that this device has is the ease of Google into a mobile phone.

Futuristic robotic assistants, designed by Franz Steiner really jaw-dropping at first sight. They predict what kind of media gadgets that would be available in the future, including self-renewing newspaper, virtual maps, and probably virtual goggles. How about robotic personal assistants ? They look pretty reliable to help you with your job or even when you need a friend to have fun with (hopefully they can clean house too). I definitely want one of those Robots !

Futuristic Mobile Device with Advanced Search Function

The idea of this concept was to exploit the internet ability in a mobile device. Touch screen, built in camera, scanner, WiFi, google map (hopefully google earth), google search, image search? all in one device. See a building through it, it will give you the image search result right on the spot.

Choose a building and touch a floor and it tells you more details of the building. You can use it when you want to know a car model, an insect name, what kind of food is served at a restaurant and how much, who built a bridge, etc. With detail informations like that, this gadget might only be used by secret service agents. Very futuristic concept.

Pegasus WheelChair Concept

I really do hope pegasus wheelchair is going to be mass produced, it will help a lot of disabled people moving efficiently. Compared to manually operated wheelchairs, pegasus is trying to break the image of the old wheelchair by combining electric drive motor with gyroscopic sensors to help the driver to move not just forward and backward but also in an upright position. The problem left would be the balance issue, since this is still a concept, there is no detailed description on how this pegasus wheelchair will handle that.

BMW Concept X6 at Frankfurt Motorshow

BWM finally showed off its two-mode hybrid system (the first BMW with two-mode hybrid system) at Frankfurt Motorshow, the idea behind this concept car is “merging the athletic aesthetics of a true sports car with the versatility of an SAV resulted in a new vehicle category that so far has not been realised” as stated on the bmw website. Quoted from Chris Bangle as Chief of Design for BMW Group about bmw concept x6 : “a good concept realizes itself in a short amount of time”. There is no official technical statement from BMW about this BMW X6, but the hybrid system expected to improve fuel efficiency by 20 percent. This car was only a concept till now, I believe this is going to be the basic of the next model bmw car.
