BlueZero is the latest addition of the eco-friendly series cars by world renowned Mercedes-Benz. The main inspiration came from the idea of creating a vehicle that is affordable and eco-conscious, and can offer a multitude of platforms for daily use. Keeping the sandwich floor concept of Mercedes in mind, the structure of this concept car allows three different platforms to realize: first one is an E-Cell with battery, secondly E-Cell plus with gasoline and battery and the last one is an F-Cell with hydrogen. This concept allows the powertrain to be moved into the floor cells in the event of a front-end collision. This innovative is not only a great safety solution but also will help creating a universal platform.

From the design viewpoint, only the obligatory 3-pointed star placed in the center of the front grille has been seen common with other conventional Benz models. A sweeping curve is making the appearance of the car unique that begins right behind the front quarter and finishes up the beltline located near the back side of the car. This BlueZero concept is relying only on its existing architecture, practical thoughts and strong support from the confident customers.

In urban cities, parking lots always remains full and even if there is some space, you will have to waste a lot of time and gasoline to find it. Bee Parking is a concept parking card with flexible display and a chipset of Zigbee network protocol which will guide you to the available parking space by showing an arrow. Bee Parking is able to guide you to find available parking space quicker by using Zigbee network protocol and IR sensor. This device works by receiving IR data from distributed Zigbee device over the parking lot and thus it can direct the driver to the available parking space within the shortest possible time.

There are Zigbee device distributed over the parking station. It can detect and calculate the location of the driver. IR sensors are also installed at each parking space, thus the driver will know which space is available, and to transmit the information to the Bee parking card via Zigbee network protocol. Then the card will display information, as well as indicate the direction of available space or exit.

The flexible display on the parking card will show an arrow, with function of indicating the location of available parking space. With the parking card, there is more useful information to be shown such as parking space number, entry time and parking fee. These aims to help the users to manage and avoided to forget where is his/her vehicle.

After you paid the parking fee, the arrow will become direction to the exit.

From the website:
Introducing a new dimension to sport flying.

A new, light sport aircraft manufacturer, ICON Aircraft, started with the vision that planes should be designed with the consumer in mind first. Founded out of Stanford Graduate School of Business by Kirk Hawkins, an accomplished engineer and former U.S. Air Force F-16 pilot, ICON Aircraft conducted years of thorough research to develop an industrial design that has evolved to become ICON’s first model, the ICON A5.

A long-time powersports enthusiast, Hawkins’ dream for the potential of sport flying became possible when he first heard of the FAA’s rule changes for light sport aircraft in 2004. As he witnessed what the Yamaha Waverunner did for personal watercraft in 1980’s, Hawkins believed a consumer-oriented sport plane could do the same for recreational flying.

Early on, Hawkins began assembling investors and world-class design and engineering talent to bring the vision to reality. ICON Aircraft eventually set up its headquarters and development facility in Southern California, a region known for having the world’s largest concentration of aerospace resources as well as the world’s leading automobile design and development resources.

Advising along the way have been top academic professionals, business leaders in aviation and powersports, and directors of award-winning product design firms like IDEO and BMW DesignWorks USA.

Leading the charge to bring the design into production is an engineering and fabrication team that previously worked on such notable projects as the Virgin Global Flyer and X-Prize winning SpaceShipOne, among many other significant aircraft and aerospace projects at Burt Rutan’s Scaled Composites in nearby Mojave, Calif.

Ronn Motor Company has created a sports car concept which runs in 30-40 % blend of hydrogen and gasoline. Scorpion, the sports car concept doesn’t require high-pressure hydrogen tank, unlike other hydrogen car, instead, the car’s alternator is injected into the motor that sends an electric charge through the water in a storage tank and releases hydrogen that means it produces hydrogen while driving. This surely differences Scorpion car from the usual gasoline-hydrogen car in the market.

Ok, now close your mouth, I know that this vehicle looks amazing, in fact you can pre-order them for only $500. Aptera, the company is going to produce this vehicle for real, so this is not just concept/design that only God knows when to be available. It looks way too cool, feel like riding a UFO or flying car. It seats 2.5 with plenty of room for luggage, and can supposedly hit 60 mph in about 10 seconds with an electronically limited top speed of 95 mph.

This Aptera is also powered by an electric drive train but it is assisted by a fuel efficient gasoline powered generator which stretches your range significantly. In typical driving you may achieve over 300 miles per gallon and you will have range far beyond any passenger vehicle available today. The approximate cost of this option with all the features listed above will be $29,900.

With European CAFE regulations, measured in tailpipe CO2 emissions rather than fuel economy, also getting much tighter, Germany’s luxury automakers, too, are feeling the heat from global warming. Even Audi which can average out its CO2 figures across the entire VW Group portfolia, feeling the pressure to build more fuel-efficient cars and smaller body.

Audi management has settled on a strategy of making its 2009 A2 a straightforward subcompact with mass appeal, rather than leftfield, like the Gen I aluminum A2. This would be key rival for BMW and Mercedes if they bring it to USA, since they offer more interior space than a Mini. The 2009 A2 won’t have a unique platform, but will use the VW subcompact underpinnings, like the Polo, with gasoline engines ranging from 1.2 to 1.8 liters, plus diesels.
