Audi eSpira: The Aspiration – This is the most uncompromised form of Audi, acts as an extension of the driver’s body. It utilizes next generation automobile control logic to transform the driver’s every movements and gestures into driving command.

Audi eOra: The Essence – This is an extremely efficient and dynamic sport vehicle that will be a dream of every young and adventurous individual in future. It uses the same control logic of eSpira and can carve the roadscape like a downhill skier with great accuracy.

Martin interview with Electrolux :

What was the inspiration for your concept?
In my opinion, everything I have ever seen, read and heard is my inspiration. Every experience stays somewhere inside you, and if you are lucky, it will come out at the right moment. If I look back, this particular concept was definitely inspired by the book The Naked Sun from Isaac Asimov, the R2-D2 robot from Star Wars, an egg, insects, and whatever else I see every day.

How does your concept fit into this year’s competition theme “Designs for the next 90 years”?
Ninety years is very long time. Nearly four generations will pass through, every one of them with its own dreams, desires and possibilities. One long lasting dream is to reach the stars, but before that, we will have to reach Mars to see whether or not we can live without Earth. This is the time where my concept is relevant. At that time, we won’t think of machines as dumb boxes with buttons, but more as partners that obey our commands, but still have their own minds. They will be more autonomous and think and make decisions on their own. It may sound frightening, but it isn’t scarier than the first arrival of trains to the cities.

What are the main consumer benefits of your concept?
One thing you notice on Mars is the silence and serenity. That’s quite good for one week’s vacation in the countryside, but for modern people it’s very depressing to live in such a place for several months or years. Therefore, the main benefit of Le Petit Prince is that it’s not just a machine, but more like a pet or silent friend that you can speak to when you aren’t in the mood to talk to people. On top of that, it is a good gardener that grows any plant you want or need to bare life or just for its beauty.

Describe the consumer research behind your concept.
Well, I must admit it’s difficult to do any real research behind the concept since it’s designed for Mars. However, some of my friends said it’s cute (I always thought some of them have to be from Mars) and I consider their feedback sufficient.

What kind of materials would you use to build your concept?
Metallurgy, glass production and synthetic plastics have been used for a long time and will probably continue to be used in the next hundred years, so I didn’t feel an urge to use new yet unknown materials. Nanotechnology made giant leaps in the last few years and it will improve properties of material surfaces in the future, so they will be even harder and more resistant than anything we know today. More effective (even transparent) are solar panels, etc., but this evolution will not affect the fundamentals of my concept.

Connect is offering simplicity through usability as well as Looks
The majority of the mobile communication market aim their products towards the mid ages. The mature age can’t relate or adjust to such products as easily as other generations because of lack of experience and ability. Physical and User Interaction aspects of a mobile device are the main issues that prevent the mature age using most devices. In the general consumer market, products are over loaded with visual complexity and extra features to standout from competitors. Even to a competent mobile device user this can give the perception of complexity, when all that is desired is simplicity and understanding.

Optimus keys house little OLED displays behind them which can be programmed using special software to accommodate multiple functions. Incorporating Optimus keys allows for simplicity within the usability and appearance of the design. This allows what potentially could be a complex menu, to be hidden within the Optimus keys and for the screen to display the current state the user is in. Lesser keys are physically required, making the overall appearance visually simplistic and alluring.

The VeloPark project team are delighted to unveil the design for the VeloPark at this very exciting time for British cycling following our team’s outstanding success in Beijing. We hope the venue and facilities we are creating will generate even more excitement in 2012 and then continue to be an inspiration for future generations of cyclists.

The vision for the VeloPark has always been to create a place where both beginners and elite athletes will be equally at home. Over the last year our work has involved reviewing the design with Chris Hoy and Team GB experts as well as regularly meeting with the local cycling groups who will be using the facilities after the Games.

The form of the Velodrome has been designed to express the drama and elegance of the track geometry and the project team hopes it will become one of the defining images of the Olympic Park not to mention a place where World Records will be broken. After 2012 it will continue to attract international competition and when all the outdoor circuits are complete the VeloPark will become an exciting hub for all forms of cycling in London.
