Repeat is a regulatory tool concept for autistic children specially designed to reinstate repetitive behaviors like head banging, arm flapping, etc with a less harmful and less distracting alternative. The prototype modeling or casting has been done with double layer of silicon embedded with LEDs. The soft and stretchy surface of Repeat can be tugged on, rubbed, squeezed, or bitten, instead of dangerous repetitive behavior like head banging. The students can use the wristband on prefixed time intervals that can be notified by the LED lights. Moreover, you can set the goal for tomorrow to the process of diminishing the number of repetitive behavior. The product package includes material information, a try-me window, a diagrammatic instruction module and various product feature guide.

BeoTime is an elegant and unusual alarm clock and sleep timer designed by Bang & Olufsen with system integration possibilities and as simple to use as pleasing to the eye. It is the substantial manifestation of an effortless message uniting humanization, utility and beauty in an amazingly discreet form.

BeoTime can make every morning an enjoyable one with its discreet own chime or customizable wake up sounds from your favorite radio station, TV program or a piece of music and can be switched off at a preset time when you are leaving the house. It also includes a built-in sleep timer which is able to switch all the Bang & Olufsen apparatuses in the room to standby mode after a chosen time interval of up to 120 minutes. This feature is very much convenient for those who want to stay up late to watch TV, or fall asleep with a preferred music without worrying about turning off the music. Aside from the alarm and sleep timer features, you can use this gadget for basic functions of the bedroom loudspeaker, television or light control.

The ease of handling and operating of BeoTime is really noteworthy; you can hold it in one hand and can operate it with your thumb. The built-in tilt sensor shows the information and button functions modify orientation as per the BeoTime is held by the user.

BeoTime is a magnificently polished and anodized aluminum tube, with a trumpet-shaped button that protrudes from one end when you will activate the alarm by pressing it. The tube’s other end comprises a cover that conceals the battery chamber for three batteries that can last around one year. Two rubber feet ensure steady footing to BeoTime when lying on the table and the almost unseen magnetic wall brackets are used to mount it on the wall. The square navigation button along with three separate displays with dark text on a vivid background performs the navigation when setting the alarm time.

Thousand Oaks, California, June 23, 2009 – World-recognized strategy, innovation, and design consultancy RKS and Water Advocacy KOR Water teamed together again to create a strategy that empowers consumers to make a difference. The result of this collaboration is the introduction of KOR’s Thirst for Giving™ program.

News of the original KOR ONE’s release was met by an immediate and overwhelming positive response. Bushbunker : Australian Bushfire Safety Bunkers

Bushfires are being considered as one of the most dangerous natural disasters and keeping the terrible Australian Black Saturday bushfires during the last February in mind a concept survival option has been developed named Bushbunker. This concept is an architecturally designed safety bunker that is able to protect you when required. This concept bunker is comprehensively designed to endure people during the severe environmental situations that a massive bushfire may produce. This bunker contains a sitting arrangement for 3 to 4 person and adequate water preservation and food storage to keep the insiders alive for few days till the fire becomes under control.

Bushbunker represents a concept that has been designed from scratch specifically as a bushfire bunker, and comprehensively engineered to withstand the severe environmental conditions that a major bushfire produces. It has been designed for maximum survivor ability no matter the intensity or type of fire.

A series of two fire doors is used to separate the entrance/storage area from the bunkers main interior to provide a fail safe, and to create an air lock which protects against the infiltration of radiant heat through the first steel fire door. This is an extremely important design feature, as some of the most severe burns to Black Saturday fire survivors were caused by radiant heat.

To outfit the interior, the design makes use of standard off the shelf components such as steel fire doors, steel frames and sealing, bench seating, compressed air cylinders, battery powered electric lighting, storage shelving, water drums, UHF radio and EPIRB, and fire blankets and first aid. This in turn allows for flexibility in the design, and reduces costs.

The Bushbunker has been designed to comfortably accommodate up to 6 adults for an extended period when equipped with compressed air cylinders. These air cylinders also have the additional feature of providing a positive internal air pressure inside the bunker making it impossible for noxious and poisonous outside gasses and smoke to enter.

Hanging above each seating area is a series of refillable standard 20 Litre water containers which provide a gravity fed source of clean water for drinking, cooling and first aid purposes.

Due to its standardized size and modular construction, and depending on the site conditions of a home, the Bushbunker can be specially incorporated into the structure of a house or home, free standing, set into an embankment or partially or totally buried underground.

Capshell Smart Medication Storage Will Alert User To Take Their Medications

The Capshell is an intelligent medication storage that will eliminate the ever increasing non adherence tendency amongst the elderly. This portable and elegant tool reminds the user to take their medications at a preset time and will record the intervals of taking medications. The schedule of Capshell will be set by a pharmacist according to the requirements of a particular individual, loads the storage on a weekly basis and ensures whether the patient is taking his or her medications timely. By adopting Capshell, the elderly community will surely be able to reduce the number of mistakes they are doing regarding taking their medications.

How it works:
The Capshell is a medication storage device that records when medication was taken and alerts the user at the correct intervals programmed by the pharmacist. If not attended to, then via Bluetooth an SMS alert is sent out to the users phone.

The outer shell slides round, revealing the corresponding opening for the time of day. This eliminates the use of the pinch grip by enabling the medication to easily fall into the palm of the user’s ready hand.

The user reloads the Capshell daily by removing the inner capsule and replacing it with a new one. Each capsule holder has the name of the day on the circular end.

The memory chip in the casing records what time the case has been opened. This information is logged for reference so that the health care professional can monitor if needed. The following week, the user returns to the pharmacist to reload the containers and the pharmacist can check the data. The pharmacist checks whether the user has been able to access the medication and at what times, and whether the user has missed any intervals.

A doctor would also be able to check the device for the same purpose. The recording device in the product assists the doctor in keeping accurate patient records. If the patient’s symptoms have not improved with a prescription, the doctor can discover whether it is due to the choice of medication or if it because of incorrect medical adherence on the patient’s behalf.

Colibri Food Dispenser for Big Cities

There are many people inhabiting and starving in the big city’s streets and the main goal of the Colibri Food Dispenser is to provide food for those people. This concept is just like a “bridge” between the excess foods and the underfed who is searching for leftovers constantly. Both the external cover and the internal structure are made of steel and this box will provide good safety against vandalism and climatologically bad conditions. The container with dimensions : 183 cm (H) x 50, 5 cm (W) x 54 cm (D), includes an antimicrobial outside layer and is totally recyclable. Additionally, elements like an individual system for food packaging and a cooling system are being used to assure better food preservation.

Solar Decathlon Wet Shower is the outcome of industrial design students in association with architects and engineers. This is an ADA approved and energy efficient shower concept for all range of users. Important features of this innovative creation are bamboo or wooden floor with a base of steel frame, Tera LED lights, Kohler sink and faucets, Kohler Water Tiles, accessible fabric storage, retractable shower head and many more. The designers made intensive field research, empathic modeling, ethnography research, observations and surveys to make their final design an extraordinary one. Through ideation and sophistication of this concept, the final outcome will be more surprising.

EGGo : An Egg Shaped Mobile Compact Kitchen

Considering this fact, industrial designer Zhdanova Irina has conceived the idea of a self sufficient mobile kitchen, EGGo. This egg shaped mobile kitchen has a water reservation tank, gas chamber along with a water sink and a burner. The glossy metal body doesn’t seem like a kitchen from any point of view but there are several layers of this kitchen with different useful features. You can use this kitchen inside your tent and can carry it easily on the top of your car.
