Instead of taking your music player for an outing how would it be if you just need to take your ipod or MP3? Yes you can enjoy the same loud music through your ipod with the help of Yo stereo speakers by American designer Victor Vetterlein. YO is a portable MP3 player dock with removable speakers. Due to its compatibility it could be taken anywhere just as your ipod or MP3 player. It is fitted with rechargeable lithium ion batteries that can either be charged through power supply or simply by wind or solar energy. Removable rods mounted at the top provide an easy handling.

Introducing ‘YO’ – an iPod and MP3 stereo speaker dock by Victor Vetterlein

YO is a rechargeable and wireless stereo speaker docking station for digital audio players. The system is portable, waterproof, and suitable for indoor and outdoor use.

Inside the dock base are lithium-ion (rechargeable) batteries that are capable of powering the stereo system for hours when the unit is disconnected from a power source. The design intention is that a renewable energy source such as solar power, wind power, or hydroelectricity charges the battery packs when the stereo is not in use.

The speakers also contain lithium-ion batteries in their base, and recharge when placed in the stereo base portals. The batteries also provide high-density ballast enabling the speakers to stand upright when removed from the charging ports.

The speaker enclosure is designed to amplify sound. The speakers are mounted in the rear of the speaker housing. Similar to a megaphone, the front portion of the speaker enclosure is extruded to increase and direct sound.

Two removable rods are mounted between the stereo speakers to stabilize the stereo assembly and provide a lifting handle when the unit is transported.

Sony ODO Battery Free Digital Camera

Every camera requires batteries for power but it is not so in the case of Sony ODO digital camera. Check out this Battery Free Camera designed by Sony. This camera is powered by kinetic energy and is charged by giving its rounded head a twist. When its head is rolled, it provides power by transforming kinetic energy into electricity. This device is made up if biodegradable vegetable based plastics and is capable of taking decent pictures. Camera takes around 15 seconds to get charged for next picture. Sony has also offered one flowerpot which acts as the Sony ODO docking system.

Future Public Bike System with Aluminum Bike

Are you ready to hit the race track with a funky aluminum bike? With the rising fuel prices, Montreal has come up with the solar powered docking system and a high tech RFID tagged aluminum bikes that are turned into complete theft disaster. There are six bikes and six docks in each station. Users can take any available bike and then return it back to any other dock. The payment can be made via Credit or Debit Cards or any other member cards. But one thing that stuck in my mind is what if there is no dock station available for a drop off?

Futuristic Laptop by Felix Schmidberger

Felix Schmidberger has designed a futuristic laptop which might be used around 8-10 years later. Say good bye to conventional keyboard, this futuristic laptop is using a touchscreen OLED display, including the screen too, basically the OLED display is separated into two section, the screen and the keyboard.

You can also control the laptop by a senstylus pen or by hand. Besides using the laptop as portable office, you can also turn the laptop into home entertainment system by the help of external docking system. The compenion (the laptop name) is going to be able to adapt to the environment, you can use projector for viewing video or when you’re at the office, you can use the external keyboard.

Although it’s just a concept, it doesn’t mean that this laptop won’t be launched, expecting around 2015 we can already use this laptop, we’ll see …
