GloBike System : Social Bike Sharing System

The GloBike system concept allows the user to share the bike and their experience with all other members of its internet community. The motto was to promote the cultural exchange and friendship between people from different communities through its online portal and use the bicycle as one of the best green transportation solutions. These bikes can send their exact location to the Globike portal which can be accessed by other users through their Globike device and call the nearest bike for their use. There are two parts of the system to manage navigation, sharing and communication between users. They are the hardware part, a device with a NFC chip that is permanently installed on the bike and the software part is the web portal itself. Globike is an updated version of Freecycle, designed by Cristiano Giuggioli, Stefano Marchetto, Massimo Brugnera and Alessandro Brunello.

sTrike : Sustainable Transport Vehicle by Stefano Marchetto

This new innovative concept design by the Milan based Italian Industrial design student Stefano Marchetto can be said to be a nice practical thought. The name given to this ecologically sustainable transport vehicle is called sTrike and just like the name it is surely striking. In these times when everyone is fighting for the parking space, this practical three wheel concept takes care of lot of these problems. The frontal movement of the vehicle is with the help of the pedals just as in bicycle and the cocoon design on top ensures that the rider is safe in case of a collision. Thus it’s a safe and environment friendly city transportation vehicle.

Smooth Car Concept for Urban Vehicle

The Smooth car concept designed by Milan based Italian Industrial designer, Stefano Marchetto is a head turner. Named as Smooth, the car sticks to its name both in terms of its design and usage. Smooth is urban transport vehicle with frontal access to the cabin. Chassis in extruded aluminium, external body in aluminium plates with square wave section. As far as the design is concerned, this two-seater is one straight arch, with ample amount of leg and head room. The spacious doors allow easy entry and exit into and out of the car. Also there is ample amount of boot space if one wants to travel with luggage. Also due to its design it does not take much of road or parking space either thus it’s a good urban vehicle.

Algaster Harvesting Robot for Future Agriculture

Here comes an amazing alga harvesting system designed to bring advancement in future Agriculture. Algaster is a harvesting machine with the capacity to harvest 100kg of alga and it stores the loan in ten containers attached on the upper side. The unit is less powerful but is created with more intelligent ideas. The shape of the unit is similar to an insect with four legs. Algae are used for energy production due to the high level of oil content. Algaster helps in the process of water cleaning in polluted areas where algae expansion may go beyond normal conditions. Once the unit stops its storage process then a hot-air-balloon brings it on the surface.

Some description from the designer :
Algaster uses algae for biomass production, because of their high oil content (several energetic industries are taking this into account from spain to japan). At the same time it provides eutrophic water cleaning (creating energy from pollution, in a way).
The system is composed by several machines, as needed (it could be used in sea water as well as in lakes). Every machine is independent (controlled by a GPS system and driven by robotic legs so it doesn’t destroy the underwater ecosystem) and acting as unit of an insect swarm.

Every unit harvests algae, cut them in little pieces (to make them dry out sooner) and treat them with UV rays (this way sterilizing algae’s spores). Then the load is stored in nets (contained in ten sliding boxes in the back of the machine). When the net is full with treated algae, an inflatable structure closes it and brings it on surface. When every net is full, an inflatable structure brings the machine on surface too. Power supply is provided by solar cells, on the back. In this way, while in the surface without net-containing boxes, it fully recharges. Every machine can harvest a 100kg load every day (10kg every net), a 10 machine system can harvest 1ton of algae!
