The Segway and General Motors have redesigned the PUMA or Personal Urban Mobility and Accessibility project and the outcome is a more unique and functional urban commuting vehicle with great outlook and features. It features an innovative horizontal design that provides complete comfort and safety to the rider. Several bone lines forming of the vehicle leads the eye from front to back instead of top to bottom and runs smoothly closer to the ground. The distinctive details of this two-seater vehicle connect with the passengers more emotionally and the compactness of the car will allow it to run through busy urban traffic.

TFL Bikeshare Network Concept with Foldable E-Bike and Electrical Modular Buses

The TFL Bikeshare network concept outlines an efficient and healthy way to realize the ultimate solution for commuters. This concept comprises a foldable e-bike that can be rode from the home and deposited to modular mobile hub, and board a bus. Upon arrival at destination, another hub will be there to rent another bike through using the unique Oystercard which can be availed by leasing the service on a per trip or monthly basis.

The E-bike has been designed with airless tires, robust tubular construction and shaft drive, ensuring durability, while the luminated front bar and dazzling graphics increase the visibility and safety for the rider. E-bikes have designed to be folded quickly and intuitively by the user and deposit it into the storage modules after arriving to a transit hub. RFID technology has been utilized to charge the users on their Oystercard according to the amount of E-bike rental time. When docked, E-bikes act as hub seating and get charged for the next renter.

Transit hubs optimize the traveler’s transitional experience between renting bike schedule called Bikeshare and boarding on a bus. The hubs provide real time transit schedule by allowing access to the Bikeshare. The Ionic modular design provides the concept with distinctive architectural identifiers all through the cityspace, increasing both the desirability and visibility of city public transit. During the time passengers board on a bus, its ultracapacitors get charged until next stop via a small arm extended from the hub. The busses collect and disperse E-bikes according to demand, effectively diminishing the need of third party distributors.

The electrical modular buses aim to optimize the needs of next generation commuters by providing ultimate convenience for public transit. The specialized interior space addresses the diverse needs of passengers. The compact and ergonomically bended seating arrangement provides a safer environment for seat occupiers and the standing passengers downstairs for short distant travel. On the other hand, long-distance travelers and tourists will be able to enjoy the city from panoramic second floor.

Starting today, U.S. residents age 18 and over can have a chance to design their vision of the next revolutionary LG mobile phone and compete for more than $80,000 in awards.

This year’s competition is even bigger and better than last year’s with first place awarded $20,000, second place awarded $10,000 and third place awarded $5,000. And to reward as many people as possible in the name of creativity, LG will be giving out a whopping 40 honorable mentions of $1,000 plus an LG U.S. phone!

“We’re very excited about this competition because it gives consumers, professionals, students and design enthusiasts all a chance to exercise their creative imaginations and have their ideas be heard. Autodesk will supply participating designers with a free 15-day trial of SketchBook Pro. Autodesk SketchBook Pro software is a digital sketchpad. A paint and drawing application for use on the Mac or PC, it offers an intuitive, streamlined user interface so even new users can be productive within minutes. The 15-day trial will give all competitors access to industry-leading professional design software and levels the playing field for professional and amateur designers alike to create the phone of their dreams.

The innovative pet holder by South Korean Industrial designer Ji-Hoon Chung can be said to be a tool that is a very helpful for all the pet owners. The device though looks like any ordinary pet holder but on closer examination one can see that it’s more than just that. Tucked away in this normal pet collar is the USB pen drive on which the user can feed in the data about his contact details which will facilitate in the tracking of the pet in case it is lost. Luxury Helicopter for Hermes by Gabriele Pezzini

After design concept cars, here comes a designer helicopter. French fashion company Hermès has joined hands with Eurocopter, to create l’helicoptre par hermès, which would be a luxury helicopter. It was unveiled at the national business aviation association’s conference in Atlanta in 2007. The same was designed by Italian designer Gabriele Pezzini along with specialists from both houses. The basic idea was to design the same for a usual business man who can use the same for his travel. The base model is EC135 of eurocopter, which is lightweight and can be used for various purposes. So what are you waiting for just fly off!

Future Mobile Emergency Relief Ports

This is not an ordinary building structure for residence but it has been specially designed for temporary disaster relief housing. This concept has been designed by New York’s O.E.M named as MERP’s (Mobile Emergency Relief Ports). Each and every disaster prone areas need this kind of concept for the safety of its people. These buildings are designed in a zigzag manner, keeping in mind all precautionary measures. There is parking space available in the ground floor of every building. This concept will soon go Live as MERP’s are pulling into position.

Vostok Bathroom Design with USSR Style by Yar Rassadin

Vostok bathroom design from ROCA competition. Anything that comes out of the Yar Rassadin’s design idea of bathroom accessories will go back to the pre USSR era. The design overall gives a feeling of nostalgia as the design looks more like the USSR spaceships, which by the designer’s own confession is a tribute to their cosmic style. So the user can have a feel of weightlessness in a spaceship inspired bath tub. Interesting! Don’t you think so? Still the clean functional design does show up nice details. So all in all, it is an interesting concept.

A Nokia Research Center has come up with this program on a large scale sensor networks. This project has sensor networks that will combine the physical and practical worlds through new methods of sensing. It will work in combination with a mobile phone to give you details about local air quality. So, get out of town and feel some fresh air with this amazing cell phone concept.
