The Barista : Portable Espresso Maker

The Barista is a handy espresso maker, designed specially for home use to enhance and simplify the user experience both indoor and outdoor. Unlike the usual espresso machines, Barista allows multiple persons to take part in the experience of coffee making and consists of brewing unit, a docking station and five espresso cups. When in docking mode, this machine is attached to the wall outlet and performs like a conventional espresso machine. When in portable mode, the coffee beans remains pre-grounded and the water is kept into a thermos pre-heated in order to enhance the portability of this machine and avoid unnecessary energy consumption.

The Reason Why
In Sweden, inviting friends over to one’s home for coffee is a very common social gathering. During my research, I found that people who have espresso machines don’t use them during these social coffee gatherings but serve conventional coffee instead because it’s more simple, more time efficient, allows easy refills, and it brews at a touch of a button which doesn’t take the host away from the party.

The making of an espresso beverage is a procedure that is traditionally taken with much pride and joy. Originating in Italy, espresso drinks have grown popularity all over the modern world. I wanted to create an espresso machine that will allow all participants to experience this procedure of creating their own espresso drink, rather than the host being in charge of everyone’s beverages and be left out of the conversations. And the procedure should be simple enough so that all people, regardless of knowledge of espresso making, can use and enjoy.

How It Works

Docking mode
The barista espresso machine consists of a docking station, brewing unit and five espresso cups. One of the main features with the Barista is that it allows multiple users to be in charge of their own espresso brewing, instead of just only one person in conventional espresso makers. To enhance the portability and make it easier to carry, the Barista works in two modes, carry mode (collapsed) and brewing mode (raised). The Barista is connected to the wall outlet when in docking mode, and functions as conventional espresso machine, where beans are grounded for each individual cup in the kitchen.

Portable mode
To make it portable some task are divided up to optimize the power consumption; the coffee beans gets pre-grounded in the kitchen and the water is pre-heated into a thermos at the same time to eliminate unnecessary energy consumption. Collapse the brew unit by pressing down the top part, to raise it, give the handle a push and the machine will raise by itself to brewing mode. The turning top allows the users to access the machine from all directions. Place cups on the tray and rotate the turning top part to move the nozzle over to the other cups.

Save Your Laptop from Liquids

Your laptop worst enemies might sit just right next to it. I bet you?re wonder what it be? Well the answer is your cup of coffee or your water drink or a cup of tea? Why is this dangerous for your laptop, because even just one spill of liquid can damage your machine which may lead to lose all your precious data.

To avoid that, simple way would be put any liquid as far away from your laptop, or you can buy keyboard?s cover which made from rubber and perfectly fit the keyboard shape based on your laptop type. But in the reality, we don?t know what might happen even with all preventions, especially when coffee or soda, they can be sticky when they dry, it can make corrode metal contacts because they are acidic liquids.

Several emergencies action can be taken to recover from liquid spill:
1. Quick turn off your machine, make sure they are no spark or burnt smell coming out of your laptop.
2. Be sure to ground yourself by reaching nearest metal object that reaches to ground.
3. If you can’t do the step two, better remove the laptop ac adapter and the battery, put them away, make sure the ac adapter and the battery is not soaked by the liquid, if it is, you might want to consider by new accessories.
4. Remove any cards installed, any external devices
5. wife off any liquid, and use hand dry keyboard

But when the spill is really more than just a spill, you better contact technical service to help you open the laptop, make sure the hardware, memory module, anything inside is free from liquid too.

Saeco Xsmall, An Automatic Espresso Coffee Machines by DesignWorksUSA

The latest coffee maker design from the house of Saeco seems to be a winner, right from the word “go”. It is in continuation with the last revamping that was done for the entire line of coffee machines along with the design arm of the BMW group. It has been dubbed as Saeco Xsmall, and is the smallest of its model. Overall the product has design elements of its previous products i.e. Primea, Talea & Odea. The interface of the product is quite user friendly, with a centralized knob. Also the color combination that has been incorporated by the designers is quite contemporary and surely will find many takers.

Xsmall machines have been designed to satisfy a public of young managers and career women, highly-evolved and urban consumers who live in major cities and in small homes, but who enjoy a dynamic lifestyle. Brunopasso, An Expresso Coffee Machine That Looks like an Italian Sport Car

He has called the same as design for style because the design is truly majestic and can be termed as a masterpiece. It looks in every bit more like the Italian Sports Cars complete with console panel. While looking stylish it is also very simple to use and even works with pods.
