The solar powered Airship One concept is actually a hybrid between an airplane and a semi-rigid airship, developed with an objective to overcome the unbelievable fuel expense of conventional airlines. The aircraft is just a bit heavier than the air, therefore, it requires reasonably less effort to become airborne and stylishly cruise at 120 mph. Moreover, it features vectored ducted fans that facilitate the ship to hover or cruise. The craft’s semi-rigid structure includes carbon fiber paneling, aluminum-grade airframe and strong PVP fabric. With a large cargo bay that can house two full-trailer containers and a passenger compartment which can easily accommodate 25 passengers, the Airship One offers a quiet, eco-friendly and efficient future to air transport.

Gosha says :

“A hybrid airship is actually a hybrid between an airship and an airplane, deriving roughly two thirds of its lift from buoyancy of lighter than air gas, and the remaining third from aerodynamic lift generated by wings. The outcome is a craft which when loaded is only slightly heavier than the air around it, and therefore requires very little effort to become airborne and even less effort to cruise comfortably at around 120mph.

The Airship One has a semi-rigid construction, Aluminum and fiber composite frame supporting PU fabric ballonets filled with lighter than air, non flammable Helium gas. Propulsion is provided by four DC electric motors, which during cruise receive their energy from solar panels mounted on the hull and wings, and during takeoff also from a bio-diesel generator. The ship can take off and land vertically, with no need for a runway of any kind.

With its 30-ton cargo capacity and a double-deck passenger compartment which can accommodate some 25 passengers with levels of comfort that by far exceed those of the most luxurious airliner.

While currently only a concept, I strongly believe that in the not too distant future machines like the Airship One will offer a quiet, efficient and eco-friendly alternative to air transport.”

Powered Body Board is an electric water board that surely will boost your fun of water activities. The industrial designer Kevin O’Doherty aimed the vast water enthusiast population who would like to enjoy surfing the sea as well as have the magnificent look underwater. The product is powered by a 12V rechargeable battery that can give the board a remarkable speed both on and under water. Solar panels are integrated into the board, this will allow for trickle charging during periods of non-use, extending the use of a single battery by 30%. The design allows adjusting the buoyancy for both wave riding and using as a submarine. The outcome of this project will surely become a well-accepted item for all range of people.

You must have heard or read about submarines, some of you must have had traveled in these submarines, but have you ever thought of submersible boats. A new concept has come into existence with this revolutionized submersible boat, called Ammonoq. It is equipped with all the necessary accessories to survive beneath the water. Fin wheels provide a steady movement in water where as on-board re-breather facilitates a comfortable breathing for the passengers. It provides easy accommodation for three passengers with a remote key transmitter to control any internal or external devices. A GPS sensor tracks the exact position of the boat and redirects the path wherever it goes.

Junji explanations :
I have come to realize that people’s interest in marine leisure is at all time high. More and more people are enjoying snorkeling, diving, and boating. They are many concepts and fully functional personal submersibles. Hotels such as in Dubai provide underwater experience. However, I felt that there is a disconnection between the underwater realm and water surface activity. The concept was the result of my approach to balance the physical and emotional aspects that encompass marine activities: (i)the love, enthusiasm, and curiosity of people for marine experience on water and underwater, (ii)safety of all life form underwater which includes people, (iii)nostalgia for the great spinning wheel of steam boats and aspiration for something new. The way it submerges or re-surfaces is simple: ballast tank in the hull is filled to submerged or emptied to re-surface. Buoyancy is controlled by partially releasing the water in the ballast tank.

When on surface, Ammonoq is just like any other boat except that it has a glass top. During the submersible mode, oxygen is made available from the re-breather unit housed under the seat. It provides up to three passengers. Each seat has a compartment where the regulator is stowed and is readily accessible to each passenger. There are also dive tank storages in the rear of the cabin for scuba diving. Therefore, the concept can also be for rescue mission underwater for coast guards.

There are two fin-wheels and each is driven by an electric motor. The fin-wheel is made out of the same materials as scuba dive fins and can rotate in the same direction to propel forward or backward. The long fins are used to propel forward and there are also wedge-shape parts on the fins that push against water to reverse. Since the fins are flexible, there is much lesser risk of injuries unlike propellers.

The traveling speed is expected to be about 50-60km/h on water, and of course, much slower underwater. Maneuver is also possible by one wheel rotating at a faster rate then the other or one wheel at a still. The steering utilizes electro-servo control that senses at what rate to turn from how much the driver tilts the handles.

The control console provides information such as speed, rpm, depth, oxygen level, as well as location by Sonar and GPS. One thing that I did not show is the remote key transmitter which allows the rider to control Ammonoq outside of the cabin. This gives freedom to the driver to enjoy diving while Ammonoq ‘tag’ along side.

With more emphasis being given on finding better training module for athletes and new research is being done in this field. On the same lines hydro training is finding more favor amongst the trainers. It has been proved that water based exercises increase muscular strength with little concussive force on the joints. Buoyancy reduces the weight of the user, load on joints and specific muscular points are decreased. Thus, it makes movement less impacting for patients with injuries. Within water low impact exercise can also prevent users gaining an injury. The water creates additional resistance, overcoming the surface tension of the water where it’s needed. Resistance can be altered via resistance jets, thus providing additional control of the muscle development, and these can also be used to lightly massage and soothe tender muscles. Taking this as a basis comes the Hydro Physio Lifestyle. This is a performance improvement tool and is confidently styled to fit within modern interiors.

For building general fitness, Hydro Physio is an excellent tool. It also offers rehabilitation exercise, with easy entry to the equipment, unlike the situation wherein one has to climb or be lowered into a pool. Different muscle groups can be worked upon owing to variable water heights. So the unit is adaptable to the height and mass of each user using this feature. Adjustability of treadmill speed, resistance and water depth are fully programmable through the product’s intuitive touch screen. A second optional screen can be added for the trainer or physiotherapists use. The workout information of the athletes and patients is downloadable at the end of the program enabling measurability of improvement.

It is easy to install compared to a full fledged pool with underwater equipment. Also the product can be a part of existing training equipment hence this is exactly what the doctor ordered.

Marion Hyper-Sub is a submersible powerboat, an innovation new vessel with flexible design. This powerboat has the ability to run in the surface at impressive speeds. The Hyper-Sub is the first small craft built with the horsepower, sea-keeping, and range to allow operation on the high seas, which also functions as a self-charging, autonomous, one-atmosphere submarine. The patented design, which was 31 years in the making, will forever alter the mini-sub industry. The world’s first true general-purpose submarine.

The Marion Hyper-Sub benefits from a design which allows for safe, comfortable and versatile use. The pressurized passenger compartment is accessed through a top hatch which is four feet above water level reducing the chance of the craft being swamped in rough weather. With the hatch closed in a storm, the Hyper-Sub is actually safer than a boat. It can even right itself if inverted. And the compartmentalized ballast system has such a high lifting capacity that the Hyper-Sub can suffer a 12 ton loss of buoyancy before losing its ability to surface.
