Anders Gloslie, a Norwegian designer who is studying at IED Tornio currently in Italy, developed the FROST concept electric car. The stylish exterior design of this extraordinary car was enthused by and developed to suit arctic climate conditions. The asymmetrical bodywork of this car was influenced by formations of ice and features plenty of ‘cracks’ which cover the lighting systems. This motivating natural inspiration source also denotes that the idea takes of various shapes seen from different angles. The FROST concept layout mixes the proportions and the 2-seat design of a racing car with the rough potential of an off-road vehicle.

Anders says:

“Since most of the worlds power supply comes form water, I wanted to use this as a concept. Th!nk is a Norwegian brand, so I also got inspiration from arctic clima. Arctic clima+water=Ice. Freezing water creates natures most powerful force. So that would be good to use for an electric car as an inspiration and concept for clean power. I wanted to create something different from all other works i have seen, mixing sports car looks with off road set up.

Using the non symmetric structures of ice as styling inspiration. Creating hard edgy and non symmetric surfaces. I wanted the car to look different, when its seen from different angles. The cracks in the body, hides signal lights over each belt, as the original think cars do. The huge fans at the back, controls air onto the cockpit also, and adjust the engine and cars temperature. The information hose at the back sends data about weather, temperature and all information thats needed, viewed from inside the car, and also outside. The data information will be shown on screens near at the fans, at the back of the car. That means you can operate the data info from the outside.

This 2 seater car has AWD, 4-wheel steering, independent suspension and hydraulic wheel extenders, for maximum traction and maneuverability.”

The new Mazda Kazamai is sure a cynosure to the eyes. The vehicle will be unveiled at the 2008 Moscow Motor show. It’s an SUV concept with the nature inspired styling cues. The literal meaning of Kazamai in Japanese is ’swirling crosswinds’ which seems to have continued in the design with door panels having subtle lines which look like the lines created in the sand. The front and rear lights seem an extension of this inspiration. The glass roof is an extension of the windscreen and looks very stylish. It also comes with a 22″ wheels with a direct injection engine. Overall it is one hell of a looker.

[Press Release]
Mazda Kazamai Concept to Premiere at Moscow International Automobile Salon 2008

HIROSHIMA, Japan-Mazda will unveil a sporty, compact crossover concept vehicle, Mazda Kazamai, at the Moscow International Automobile Salon (MIAS) on August 26. Kazamai, which means “swirling crosswinds” in Japanese, expresses the powerful yet nimble image of a stylish and compact crossover. The concept is based on Mazda’s long-term vision for technology development, Sustainable Zoom-Zoom, which aims to provide a unique balance between sporty driving fun and superior environmental and safety performance. Kazamai will be joined at MIAS by the Russian debut of Mazda’s CX-9 SUV, which was crowned 2008 North American Truck of the Year in February.

The Kazamai concept further evolves Mazda’s ‘Nagare’ design language by fusing Nagare’s ‘flow’ design cues with aerodynamic proportions. The design features panel lines inspired by crosswinds in nature which evoke visual lightness. Its bold five-point grille, accentuated front wheel arches and sleek roof line, combined with large 22-inch wheels, lend it high emotional appeal.

Sporty to look at, Kazamai is meant to be spirited and fun to drive, with compact dimensions. Kazamai’s four-wheel drive powertrain will consist of a next-generation direct injection engine and a newly developed transmission. It is also aerodynamic, with an evolved lightweight body structure and enhanced the vehicle safety attributes. Were it to be built, Mazda’s latest show car would deliver exciting driving dynamics, frugal fuel consumption and greatly reduced CO2 emissions.

The Mazda Kazamai promises to be another ground-breaking show car from Mazda Design, winner of this year’s Grand Prix du Design in Paris. Created especially for the Moscow International Automobile Salon, it gives a good indication of where Mazda is going with a possible future compact crossover. And in Russia’s growing automotive market, compact SUVs are the second-largest segment, representing about 13 percent of all new car sales.

Complete information will be made available immediately after Mazda’s press conference at 10:15 a.m. local time, on August 26 at the Mazda stand.

RUSH camera is waterproof and shockproof – unique shots can be taken from a lot of new perspectives. Surfing, biking, or any other sports – RUSH is the camera for total action. The camera’s function is based on three different fixation principles covering all needs of conventional sports. RUSH can be attached by using either a helmet or body band, or with an extra suction cup. It can be provided with a bike feature, too. The shutter release is attached to the index finger and can be triggered by thumb. This way, pictures can be taken in any situation. The image can be viewed on the info screen worn around the wrist. The jury: the solution is respectable. Nothing is promised that can’t be kept. Proportions and forms are conceivable

Every wonder what a tattoo would look like in your body before inking yourself? Thanks to Lo?c Zimmerman, a computer graphics artist that create a program who can help you preview what is it look like a tattoo in your body. The program works by scanning all your body to capture body proportions to accurately depict a complex 2-D design on a body’s 3-D canvas. But another problem arise, as it’s said on the website :
“One problem that arises, even in a 3-D rendering, is that computer models don’t age or wrinkle: little design details, lines in close proximity–they all risk blurring into each other when the ink spreads as our bodies grow old.”

motorcycle, renovatio concept, motor design, motor concept

I’m a little bit confused with this motor design, where do I sit ? This renovation concept by Confederate Motor Company uses minimal machine, using the fewest pieces, moving parts and systems to accomplish its dynamic mission. The word “Renovation” itself means rebirth, which also represent the rebirth of their headquarters company after destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. The Driving concept was the creation of a conceptually flexible foundation to allow a place for growth and further iteration; a utilitarian modular flexible foundation.

Conceived by the leader of our conceptual design team, Mr. Ed Jacobs, the motorcycle is at once primitive, bohemian, and yet highly technical. Renovatio is un-compromised, light weight, possesses enormous torque, is capable of extreme performance, yet has maximum real world streetable active safety. It is graceful in motion, yet potentially brutal. It exudes inner beauty through absolute follow through of truth of concept. Renovatio has great proportions, holistic brand gestalt, is original, impactful, alluring and elegant
