Multi Mode Vehicle : You Can Turn Your Motorbike to Aircraft

Multi Mode Vehicles or MMVs are an effort of Samson Motorworks to overcome the car’s inability to fly, and considering the aerodynamic and weight related issues of 4-wheel vehicles, they have embarked on an assignment to develop a flying 3-wheel motorcycle. Two models of duel-use MMVs are under development, first one is Skybike with a patent telescoping wing and the other one is the Switchblade that utilizes a scissors wing design and can retract the wings when you are riding in the freeway.

Although both the MMVs are light and small, they can attain a maximum altitude of around 10,000 foot above sea level. The overall size and strong structure around the riders ensures passenger safety and can be spotted easily by other vehicles in traffic. The front shock absorber, a side door protection and ballistic shaft recovery system are few safety features of these three-wheelers. Both models include air conditioning and heating, rear view video monitor, automatic vehicle leaning, dual lighting system for ground and air, and stereo MP3 input CD player.

Unlike the conventional aircraft engines, the engines of these MMVs have emission controls, therefore, motorcycle engines and transmissions are being used after modification to provide power reverse to the propellers for both the models. From the test result of the current pre-production engines, it’s been predicted that they would pass the ultra-low emission vehicle standards of California without exhaust treatment.

The Green Eye Candy and Orange Tequila Sunrise Bicycles

With the sunrise orange color and the perfect white shades, the Tequila sunrise bicycle is really offering an ideal visual according to its name. Even you can compare the body of this bicycle, made of laid fiberglass over steel frame, with a rising sun. During giving the final shape, fabrication of the bicycle’s body has not been done with molds; rather the designer chose to put fiberglass over the top expanding foam. This bike may not seem quite ridable at the very first look but the designer has worked hard to make things easier. The curved handle allows the rider to maintain a comfy sitting even though the distance of the seat from the front wheel is considerably longer.

Eye Candy is a green bicycle with an innovative design and all steel body, ideal for all range of riders. The bicycle was designed to keep a lightweight bike concept in mind and therefore, it doesn’t include any unnecessary body parts. This candy green painted bicycle includes completely functional tail lights in the back pods which maybe the most uncommon feature of a bicycle. Besides, it has grilles and hand made backrest to ensure the riders comfort and fork support in the wheels to offer better durability.

Aito Motorbike Concept with V-Twin 1800cc Engine

Style, precision and customization are the main characteristics of The Aito custom bike which is very ideal for passionate riders. This bike is powered by a V-Twin 1800cc engine and the long leather seat offers comfort on long and stretched roads. The exhausts are non-silenced to make sure you are heard. The use of a standard chain has been replaced with a belt drive system to ensure less maintenance. Transformable Spin Vehicle Design by Matias Conti

This transformable spin vehicle is able to change the position of the driver and his distance from the ground in order to generate different types of vehicle topologies and different levels of complexity to drive. Designed by Matias Conti, the vehicle’s direction system works by rotating the wheels by the electronic actuator and tipping the lateral arms. Riders can drive this vehicle in an intuitive way utilizing their own body weight. The vehicle uses battery for electric supply and the rear motor wheel provides motion. Honda V4 Motorcycle Concept with Hubless Wheels

It’s amazing now seeing the jaw dropping designs and concepts that Honda brings forward. Honda V4 concept has come up with a deadly sports bike that proposes a new bike design direction for the brand. This model is designed to indicate the beginning of a new era. The bike has V4 engine and it is clearly shown in the design. The hubless wheels are fixed with all-enveloping cowls which most likely assist in reducing drag. This stylish and futuristic sports bike concept was exposed at the 2008 Intermot bike show in Germany. Overall, this bike is going to offer a new look to all the bike riders with excellent performance.

Bicycle Design for People with Disabilities

Bicycle designer Gavin Smith has come up with a new bicycle design that will help people with disabilities to ride the bicycle independently. Sometimes disabilities like cerebral palsy can affect the basic motor functions such as balancing which results in their inability to ride a regular bicycle. The bicycle is designed such that the supports automatically allow them to balance and operate the same effortlessly. The design also instills confidence so that they can ride the bike without any assistance. Overall this is a good effort for community development and a nice thought which is a welcome change from all those high end concept cars.

This product is designed to assist people with disabilities to independently ride a bicycle. Disabilities such as Cerebral Palsy, Intellectual Disabilities and Acquired Brain Injuries can affect basic motor functions such as balance and strength, hindering their ability to operate a bicycle as an individual. This bike supports the rider’s disability by helping them balance the bike, be effortless to operate and also looking and functioning like a main stream bicycle. This helps the rider gain the independence and confidence to ride a bicycle without assistance.

Although this bike has been designed specifically for people with disabilities, there is no reason why this product cannot be used or adapted for other demographics.

This bicycle was created to support the physical limitations of a person with a disability. As a result, this gives the rider the confidence to independently ride a bicycle. This helps increase the riders self esteem and encourages them to become more active in society.

Designer Yirong Yang has brought forward a truly interesting bicycle design at International Bicycle Design Challenge. ‘Rotation’ is a city rotating and folding bike concept design which seems to be a combination of unicycle and bicycle. You can make a choice as to what you wish to ride and consequently you can fiddle with the axis to give preferred shape. Although unicycle is for adventurers and will be a challenge for a normal human being to ride still riders admire it for its unique design. Bringing out this concept on the city roads would amaze people with its style and looks. Once you are done with your riding, you can fold it and carry very easily unlike normal bicycle.
