Pagora is an innovative concept that allows a place to put your bike while getting some rest under a lotus flower shaped spot. The design was inspired from the traditional roofing tile of Korea, yet has been modernize to enhance the appearance and functionality. Pagora features adequate space for racking one bicycle only and the rider is envisioned to be protected from the sun through its beautiful shade that protects only the heat of the sun, not the light. The frame of the concept has been made durable enough through using rigid steel pipes with glossy metallic color.

GloBike System : Social Bike Sharing System

The GloBike system concept allows the user to share the bike and their experience with all other members of its internet community. The motto was to promote the cultural exchange and friendship between people from different communities through its online portal and use the bicycle as one of the best green transportation solutions. These bikes can send their exact location to the Globike portal which can be accessed by other users through their Globike device and call the nearest bike for their use. There are two parts of the system to manage navigation, sharing and communication between users. They are the hardware part, a device with a NFC chip that is permanently installed on the bike and the software part is the web portal itself. Globike is an updated version of Freecycle, designed by Cristiano Giuggioli, Stefano Marchetto, Massimo Brugnera and Alessandro Brunello.

Cojoy : Bicycle for Two Persons That Was Inspired By Dual Paddle Boat and A Wheelchair

Cojoy is a bicycle concept for two persons, inspired from the dual paddle boat along with an operational wheelchair, and is designed to offer sheer fun for the bicycle riders. Each rider is designed to control one wheel separately of the bicycle. The seat angle of the concept is totally adjustable by using the handle according to the need of individual riders. It runs straight when two riders pedal at the same speed and when it requires to turn, the outer rider will ride faster than the inside rider. Riding this bicycle requires a good communication, cooperation and a minimum skill.

Urban Bicycle Concept with Folding Wheel System

The compactable bicycle concept was driven from the need of boosting urban space efficiency when it is not in use or being transported. The wheel is made of six modules, each with double pivot in their joints, allowing the wheel to be folded and become smaller. The spokes of the wheel are contained in the internal structure when you fold the bicycle and the spokes rotate to the system’s center where they attach with the center wheel. This bicycle is designed in a double triangle structure made of expandable modules with foldable ability. To keep the structure in position, the system has utilized a special X shaped component that aligns the modules to the exact position.

Victor says :
The Wheel is composed by six modules, each one has a double pivot in the joints, this allows the wheel to fold and become smaller, the spokes are contained in the inner structure of the wheel, when you unfold the system, the spokes rotate to the center of the mechanism where it attach to the center of the wheel.

The double triangle structure is composed by expandable modules, each one collapses to a smaller dimension and then this modules align by the rotation of the axis in the joint of the structure, to keep in position all the structure is used an special part in a form of an X that aligns all the modules to their position.

Renault Picnic Zero-Emissions Concept Car Provides Room for Social Gathering

When people goes for a picnic, a car that can provide room for social gathering parked in an urban landscape is always desirable, which was the main inspiration of designing the Renault Picnic concept car. This car can become an urban furniture, where people can re-acquaint themselves with the surrounding natural environment with its various functionalities. It features LED-impregnated DOL that allows adjustable and customizable tinting patterns that will make the car’s surface a public art. The easy access sliding doors allow convenient entrance. You can attach a bicycle with the rear bumper and can arrange some extra sittings with tailgate rumble seats that slides-out from the front trunk. The Renault Picnic features low-cost and minimalist dashboard with i-pod compatibility which is ideal for new drivers. The modular seating arrangement of this car ensures equal comfort to be enjoyed for all passengers either inside, on atop the rear bumpers or on the front tailgate.

The Renault Picnic seeks to augment rather than detract from the health of it’s surrounding environment. It is a Zero-emissions vehicle that provides a social function to the parked car within in the urban landscape. When parked, the Picnic transforms into urban furniture, becoming a social space for people to re-acquaint themselves with the surrounding environment. LED-impregnated, glass-coated polycarbonate windows project customized images when the vehicle is parked, transforming the vehicle into a form of public art.

Further considering the environment, the exterior panels are composed of hemp-based composites, and the vehicle is powered by Lithium Ion batteries and two rear-mounted in-wheel hub motors.

In order to reduce cost, complexity and weight, the simple interior is constructed of modular components, with four identical, soy-foam seats and an i-pod doc replacing most of the functions, including sound system and GPS on the dashboard.

Triclo : Innovative Tricycle Concept for Urban Environment

The Triclo is an innovative tricycle concept, featuring the functionality of a paddling tricycle, while offering the outlook of a futuristic transportation means. This vehicle is designed to make room for one person only and comprises paddles with a convenient sitting arrangement. The Triclo has a steering wheel instead of conventional tricycle handles and an innovative and unique rear wheel setup. It features a shade over the driver that will let the driver protected from the sun and mild rain.

Randall words about Triclo:

Triclo is a conceptual design of what a tricycle can be in a urban environment. It uses an organic forms and contemporary trend. Balance in visual volume and mass. Using arrays and knots was the basis for the formal development and geometric design.

The concept was: low material vs. high volume

The design is targeted for a younger market but can be used by adults too. The idea was to create a tricycle with a diferent look to capture the attention of people and thus encourage exercise. At the same time the concept of design is important to not use much material in the product and reduce costs.

A tricycle is more than a bicycle but less than a motorbike, but this tricycle has almost a cab, this protects of the sun and rain to the user. Therefore, that is its advantage over a motorcycle that somehow is to approach a car. Maybe this way, providing superior comfort offered by a bicycle or even a conventional tricycle, is a way for people interested in using the product and increasing exercise in the population. The design is targeted for a younger market but can be used by adults too.

The materials were designed to be recycled once they finish their service life. There are variety of colors to suit all tastes.

Futuristic London Garden Foldable Electric Bicycle

London Garden is a concept car free zone in downtown London allowing bicycles and busses only as transportation means. In this connection, the designers have created an innovative transportation system combining a bike and a bus including the supporting infrastructure.

The bicycle is designed to generate energy when riding and this energy can be used as currency to pay for your bus rides. The bike electronically folds into the bus seat storage mode for space and weight efficiency and to fit on the bike stand. Bike stands can be found at the bus stops where the bikes will be stored securely in order to collect energy from the sun and wind. Moreover, it contributes energy to the bus system that was generated during riding and stored in inner batteries. Finally, the energy will be accumulated from all the bus stops into the London Garden network system, which is the Universal Electricity Network of this concept.

Win-Solar Energy Bike concept is an intelligent electronic bicycle that is specially designed in a compact manner and can convert various natural power sources into electric power when the user rides it. This bike will enhance the efficiency of using energy sources like solar energy, wind energy, gravity electric energy and human energy, by converting them into electric power and storing the accumulated power into a rechargeable battery. At the end of the day or when riding uphill, this useful bike will automatically switch to electric riding mode in order to assist the rider.

RimLock Bike is Designed to Lock Itself

The RimLock bike acts as a lock itself and is designed to make a better life for a bike messenger, making it easier and quicker to lock and immobilize the bike. The inspiration of this bike came from the bike messenger or delivery person who tend to leave their bike unlocked because of the complexity and time required associated with this issue. The user just puts the key inside the bike’s hub and twists the rim to make it not rollable. Both the rear and front wheel have this locking ability and comprises a hole on the frame that will allow you to use chain lock to make it harder to steal the bike. This will make the bike safer in hazardous neighborhood.
