The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 with its 3.2” touchscreen has been officially unveiled after its sleek-looking predecessor X1. If you consider dimensions, the latest X2 is close to its previous version; however, it’s lighter than the X1. The X2 features a redesigned keypad just like that of a netbook and reveals by sliding out the upper portion. The 8.1 megapixel camera is one of the major upgrades of X2. The custom panel interfaces have been enriched with fourteen preloaded and sixteen more downloadable ones. Besides, it is the debut of Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system as default on a Sony Ericsson handset.

Nokia E97 is a concept design by Fabien Nauroy, shows an incredible thought and a stylish phone. This concept phone has a complete keyboard in an AZERTY layout and there is a small LCD display above the keyboard. This envelop like design aims to set a limit between professional and personal life. The included leather case contains a second pocket to hold an additional screen. The parcel post like packaging of this phone has made it even more attractive and the best part of this concept phone is the futuristic pull-out LED display that can be used as a storage device and can create and share files or pictures.

It is the constant endeavor of mobile makers to provide the best of the services to their users, which is why the innovation by all designers is aimed at getting the max out of their handsets. The new Mozphone concept: OLED Blackberry which is nothing but a combination of Balckberry 7139 and an optimus keyboard. It is quite significant whereby the combination opens up a lot of communication channels. The phones usually have limited ability for receiving and providing information through the 3″ display screen which does seem to be an inconvenience, addressing this problem, this concept utilizes every inch of the phone thus providing complete utilization. All in all it’s a very practical solution.

Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you might have gone traveling overseas and your current mobile phone doesn’t work? Well kiss those problems goodbye with the new Freedom 2010 phone.

Freedom Phone is a small pre-paid phone for travelers who cannot use their usual mobile phones while being abroad, or it could be a solution for those users who just don’t need all the fancy features a last-generation phone has to offer, that is unique in design and unique in out it works. Upon arriving into the new country, you have the option of purchasing the Freedom Phone with 60, 100 or 200 minutes. There’s no fuss remembering Roaming tariffs, no extra prefixes to remember when being abroad, you have complete Freedom when calling home.

No SIM card needed – no roaming charges and in 10 short minutes, the Freedom Phone is charged. The phone number, important service and other information are located on the back of the Freedom Phone. Best of all, the Freedom Phone is so tiny; there won’t be the frustration of lagging the phone around with you on your trip. The bottom line, Freedom Phone, is a perfect and new solution to your traveling needs.

Not all the manufacturers have realized that there’s a huge market out there for people who are just interested in making and receiving phone calls, no need for advanced and complicated devices, which are used only at 5% of what they could really offer. There’s also a huge market comprised of elderly users, not at all the tech-savvy type, for which producers should remember to keep things simple, as simple as possible.

This concept simply grants you a phone that is used for nothing more than making and receiving calls. Its design focuses on ease of use and practicality.

The new camera designed by Hakan Bogazpinar, is one gadget that surely seems to be taken straight out of the bond flicks. It makes use of all latest technologies and provides the best solution for the task at hand. Named as “Flee”, it’s a design solution or a set of a digital camera and a Bluetooth receiver for the mobile phones. The device is supposed to be thrown in the air, and then it starts taking photos of surrounding area and sends the same to the mobile phone via Bluetooth. And the best part is that the time interval between two photos can be customized, so it is completely user friendly. So just throw and click!

To commemorate the French Independence Day, MobiFrance has come out with a concept phone which is a perfect tribute to one of the best fought independence in the history. To begin with the design it speaks for itself as the phone has been designed on Eiffel Tower, the best known landmark in France. It has been named FL (French Luxury) which is a touch screen phone and has a 7.2 mega pixels camera. Also it stands like a tower and has speakers on sides. It can be used for all the multimedia functions including video and it has vibration mode to go with. Though the manufacturers have not disclosed the price or availability but surely this one will have many takers.

Chi Shing Lo, a student at the UK’s De Montfort University recently won the annual D&AD Student Awards for the new mobile phone handset designed for Orange. This win is his second major competition this year. The D&AD Student Awards of course showcases the best emerging design and advertising talent from colleges and universities around the globe. The handset design includes a simple ‘hole’ which doubles up as a view finder when used as a camera, a charging point which uses inductive charging technology, and also for transferring data. It also has a mirror surrounding which enables the users to take their own picture.

A cool and innovative concept designed by Rune Larsen shows the new cell phone with concept of changing shapes. It’s sleek and clean design makes it the best choice for any gadget lover. As per this concept, this cell phone will have 2 layers of plastic, one flexible and the other one would be hard with special liquid inside it. When the liquid is pushed between the layers they can form different shapes on the surface. As the mobile phone is capable of changing its shapes with the touch on its screen, it will surely bring a revolution in the mobile industry.

Electric Dauphin is a pure electric vehicle. The best part is that one can charge it at home as one does to a cellular phone. For full charge a little over six hours is needed and can run almost 300 km in one charge. The vehicle was created as a smart vehicle which is cost efficient and environment friendly. It is designed in a manner that the electric motors are housed just inside the rear wheels of the vehicle. Touching a top speed of 150 kilometers per hour the vehicle is built with composite materials which guarantee high performances and safety standards. The car can communicate with the home computer wirelessly through the internet server, and users can receive information when needed, be it basics like maps, directions etc. This one is surely a class apart.
