No More Ladder Slips with Feet First Ladder Safety System

The feet first ladder safety system addressed two main issues; ladder slips and angle control, which was inspired by the frequent accidents happening due to slipping the ladder base. The device attaches with the ladder footing, allowing increased friction and greater control at the ladder base. The grip has been specially designed to replicate the adhesive attributes of gecko feet for increased friction, even in damp surfaces. The grip is made of gecko synthetic adhesive polymer, which comprises millions of tiny contact hairs named setae, able to adhere with anecdotal surface textures. The adjustable feet height will allow the users to place it on uneven surfaces with maximum efficiency.

HARP : Musical Instrument for Urban Parks

Harmony and Acoustic Research Project or HARP is a weather-proof communal musical instrument specially designed for urban parks. Primary goal of this project was to harness the power of music as a universal language which is the most effective way to unite people. This circular innovative musical instrument has a 10 feet circle which encourages the act of interaction and creates a sense of closeness. Installation of this instrument was divided into 4 different quadrants, each with individual sound instruments, electric organ, piano, steel drum and chimes were the initial selection.

However, these sounds are exchangeable and can be adjusted to a range of instruments like digeridoos, sitars or even vocal samples. To coincide with the park’s environment, HARP’s sound output is restricted to 75 decibels, so that only the users and those passing nearby would be able to hear its music. The ultimate vision of HARP is to get it installed in every urban parks all over the world and then be remotely connected through satellite to allow international musical association among its users.

CPLEGIA : Conceptual Cerebral Palsy Walking Unit for Children

The CPLEGIA is a concept cerebral palsy walking unit that is specially designed to develop the walking skills of physically immature children of over 5 years old. This fully automatic walking unit has three different states. First one is an arrangement where kids can use their feet-to-ground power while sitting on the adjustable seat. Second state is for advanced walking practice, where the seat is straightened up so that the kids can walk standing with back support. Third and the final state is for more advanced treatment, where kids will walk without any back support. This product will enhance the social life participation of physically undeveloped children.

BeoTime is an elegant and unusual alarm clock and sleep timer designed by Bang & Olufsen with system integration possibilities and as simple to use as pleasing to the eye. It is the substantial manifestation of an effortless message uniting humanization, utility and beauty in an amazingly discreet form.

BeoTime can make every morning an enjoyable one with its discreet own chime or customizable wake up sounds from your favorite radio station, TV program or a piece of music and can be switched off at a preset time when you are leaving the house. It also includes a built-in sleep timer which is able to switch all the Bang & Olufsen apparatuses in the room to standby mode after a chosen time interval of up to 120 minutes. This feature is very much convenient for those who want to stay up late to watch TV, or fall asleep with a preferred music without worrying about turning off the music. Aside from the alarm and sleep timer features, you can use this gadget for basic functions of the bedroom loudspeaker, television or light control.

The ease of handling and operating of BeoTime is really noteworthy; you can hold it in one hand and can operate it with your thumb. The built-in tilt sensor shows the information and button functions modify orientation as per the BeoTime is held by the user.

BeoTime is a magnificently polished and anodized aluminum tube, with a trumpet-shaped button that protrudes from one end when you will activate the alarm by pressing it. The tube’s other end comprises a cover that conceals the battery chamber for three batteries that can last around one year. Two rubber feet ensure steady footing to BeoTime when lying on the table and the almost unseen magnetic wall brackets are used to mount it on the wall. The square navigation button along with three separate displays with dark text on a vivid background performs the navigation when setting the alarm time.

Rez-Q Kayak is Not Just Simple Watercraft

Considering the flood rescuing issue, Rez-Q has been developed to use it in post-flood conditions where the waters became calm, but the roads are still blocked. It can be deployed by boat or helicopter and numbered to track it throughout the rescue effort. Don’t take it as a simple watercraft; the different features of Rez-Q have made it a useful relief as well. This rescuer is opened by an immediate release lever in the boat’s back and the pneumatic cylinders open the kayak. An elastic urethane material stretches out from the main hull which gives the kayak an additional 3 feet of length. This light urethane is extremely UV stable, energy absorbing and abrasion resistant.

How it works :
The Rez-Q kayak is opened by a quick release lever in the back of the boat. Once this lever is pulled, the kayak opens by pneumatic cylinders. An elastic urethane fabric stretches out of the main hull to give the kayak an extra three feet of length. This light-weight urethane is highly UV stable, abrasion resistant and energy absorbing.

Once opened, the Rez-Q has an outrigger float that provides extra stability as well as a stretcher for the injured. It also features a sail that can be tilted forward when not in use or opened up to become an on-water shelter that protects both passengers from rain or sun.
