Inspired by Quicksilver - Quicksilver Sport Phone Concept

Fred de GARILHE tried to create a 2 in1 phone: sms position when closed, easy to use as a pager, “pebble” form to imitate surf and beach spirit… special materials as neoprene texture to create a fusion with Quiksilver apparel collections. When the phone’s opened, the screen is double larger, that permit to navigate on a mobile web system, watch TV or movies.

Cellphone Concept : What You See Is What You Get

The purpose of this concept is to explore innovative products for the near future. Nowadays, more people use cellphones to substitute for cameras and music players. The cellphone becomes a digital Swiss army knife in the new era. Because of the light-power use and carry-on property, the combination of cellphone and camera is the most successful one. Instead of relying on a big touchscreen or software solutions only, this concept focused on the essential value of an easy-use cellphone.

Traveling with Your Bike ? Use Suitcase Bike

Story behind this suitcase bike from the designer Gosha Galitsky : Being a big bicycle enthusiast, it always bothered me to see how little cooperation exists between public transport and bicycles. It seems to be a perfect solution for commuting- an alliance between safe intercity transport (such as trains, buses and airplanes) and short-range non polluting bicycles which can zip you through the congested city like a breeze and park in your room or your cubicle at work. However, I only saw this harmony take place in some places in Europe (Italy is especially biker- friendly) and in some areas of the US, mostly on the west coast. All this in spite of rising awareness for environmental issues, growing congestion within city limits and an immense growth in the popularity of cycling for commuting as well as for sport. So I tried to find what was preventing this alliance from happening. After a certain observation and research, I discovered some interesting things. (more…)

Nissan Pivo 2: 360-Degree Swiveler Electric Nissan Concept

It’s the new version of Nissa Pivo concept, first shown in 2005, the electric-powered, 360-degree swiveler. Now it’s the Pivo 2. Just the same as the first Pivo, its cabin rotates, eliminating the need for a reverse gear, though its in-wheel motors can propel it in any direction — even sideways. What’s new in the Pivo 2 is its in-car Robotic Agent, a voice-recognition interface (in English or Japanese) to a valet application that can engage in a range of communications from basic vehicle functions to the closest parking space. It looks like a cartoon car, but I really like the design.
